I’m still waiting on my refund. This place has prostitutes and crackhead hanging outside and living in the hotel. My son and I were on a road trip coming back from Zion extremely exhausted and just wanted a quick place to rest our head for a couple hours before heading to the airport. This place doesn’t even allow you in the lobby. They have you talking to them through a plexiglass. The receptionist rude as F! I asked my son to book a cheap hotel as we did the day before because again we were on a road trip. The other hotel was nothing like this even though it was also a 2 star hotel. Not to mention they ask for a $100 CASH deposit which was never mentioned. Where they expected me to get cash after midnight was insane. They receptionist didn’t take my card and basically denied my check in. Expedia needs to work fast on this issue. Idc if the place was “no refundable” this place is a crack house and UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN and that should be stated! People travel from all over the world not knowing what area is a bad area. They should always make an exception ESPECIALLY when children are present. A lady at the time was complaining about bugs in her room. This place should be shutdown immediately!!!!

If you're going to require a $100 cash only deposit you should get your ATM fixed. Or accept cards in the meantime. Don't tell me to drive a block down the road in awful road construction traffic to get cash. 🙄 Room is kinda icky but we weren't expecting anything fancy. There's grime all over the walls and the carpet is sticky...

After several tries to get her to speak louder, we finally figured out that she was saying they require a $100 deposit and accepted cash only. Just walked away in frustration and booked another hotel. Do not give this place your business.

Ive stayed in 3rd world countries that weren't as sketchy. there was an inch and a half gap between the bottom of our door and the floor. We had spiders in our room. There was a layer of tar everywhere. The toilet never stopped running through the whole night. It was so loud we had to shut the door to be able to talk to each other. the wires were stripped out of the wall on the heater and tv. There was a group of guys blasting music two doors down. Ive lived in 3rd world countries but haven't felt that in danger. The whole check in process was very dodgy.

The room stink of pee. My husband didnt even sleep under the covers. He went to have a shower in the mornong and there was no hot water. I tried to call in the morning but they would not transfer me to his room nor would they pass on a message for me.

I stay in hotels almost every weekend for work and this is the worst place I have ever stayed! The staff was rude; the facility is rundown; we had ants crawling all over the nightstand, bed, tub and shower; don’t think the room was cleaned from furs before me as there was a dirty towel hanging near ironing board and the floors were covered in dirt ( you couldn’t walk around barefoot without the souls of your feet turning black from the dirty floors). Said they had trailer parking but they didn’t. I requested a 1st floor room in my reservation as I have difficulty climbing stairs and was given a second floor room. Lady at check-in lied and said they didn’t have any 1st floor rooms available but man behind me checking in was given a first floor room. Other guests were also complaining about the property, with one saying he said in better places in South America. Do not stay here!!! You will regret it.

I could not check in, in the lobby. They had a bullet proof glass check in window. They also required $100 cash deposit to check in. The person in front of me was inquiring if they would get charged for the broken lamp and bed in the room they just checked into. The AC/heater did not work nor was there a fan in the room.

When I checked in and they gave me my first room, there was only 1 working outlet, no coffee maker, the tub was filthy, the safety latch on the door was missing, there was no washcloths, the tv didn't work and there was a mirror sitting on the floor facing the window. The second room, the tub was dirty, the tv didn't work (someone stole the cable box) the door did not have a lock catch on it, it was just a big hole where the door lock went into, the coffee maker was missing the basket for the coffee pouch, no washcloth and the room was dirty and the safety latch was broken. If I could get a refund I would!

When we checked in there was a surprise $100 "cash only" deposit required that wasn't mentioned on website. There was a hand written notice about it posted on the window of the lobby saying it was effective since June 2023, so they've had plenty of time to update online. We checked in, dropped our bags off in the room, and went to dinner. When we came back we noticed graffiti on the vanity mirror. While we were getting ready to sleep, we discovered roaches around the bed and even on the pillows. We called the front desk from the room phone 3 times, and got voice mail each time. During that call time we also discovered ants, and some sort of beetles in the bathroom and vanity areas. We decided to cancel our reservation and go to a different hotel. We received our cash deposit back, but they have refused to refund the money for our 4 night stay, (which they charged our card for the full stay at check in), even though we were only there for a few hours of the 1st night. We attempted to work this out with management, but they've refused to do the right thing. This was our 1st saty in SLC, & not a good 1st impression. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL.

When I checked in, I knew it wasn't going to go well. The attention Behind the windows, I entered the room, it had a horrible smell, untidy, there were dirty things. If it weren't for the fact that I only needed one night to sleep, I would have left immediately. The room apparently had a water leak since the carpet was wet, which I noticed late at night, the next day they were still even wetter. Terrible experience

Too much stuff to list. All of it bad. Roadworks immediately outside the hotel make it very hard to navigate to. I rang the hotel to ask. Got voicemail. Left message. No call back. Eventually found a way to get in but took 20 mins. At reception they insisted on taking a $100 cash deposit from all guests. There's no forewarning of this. Several guests had to travel into downtown to find as ATM. They also photocopied my credit card without my permission including the CVC number. They refused to destroy it. An easy way for your credit card to be abused. Room smelt musty, bed linen clearly wasn't fresh, bathroom whilst clean had broken fixtures. Half the lights didn't work. Carpet was sticky. Plus point, the coffee machine worked. I'd rather sleep on the street than stay here again.

I'm just gonna say what it hides in the listing: You have to pay $100 cash deposit, even if you choose to pay online. I chose the pay at facility option and was blindsided by it. The good news is, it will be promptly returned on your departure, but it is an extra trip to an ATM and inconvenient. I would recommend going elsewhere if possible.

First, we were not allowed in the lobby, there was a small "bank looking window" that the clerk spoke to us. It was in a very seedy part of town with construction YARDS from the hotel. The hotel looked run down, we asked to see the room, and were denied. We felt extremely unsafe and left immediatley. In addition, we had booked this hotel through Expedia and we had difficulties with Expedia to reimburse us. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS HOTEL!

Hey so this hotel was not the greatest,it was terrible, there was a huge hassle for checkin in i flew in from oregon, I paid for two nights but I just couldn’t stay the second and this is why, there was a clear pee stain in the corner of the hotel and the bathroom I just felt so gross, it was just broken into pieces, the door was all messed up with foot holes and the door ripping off when you open the bathroom door, bugs and different liquids in the fridge, and a outlet just completely open for anybody to get electrocuted, I wanted to get a refund for the next night bc I just couldn’t stand it, but they said they have a one night rule thing so I ended up having to cancel, never staying at this establishment again. Whoever judges the hotel safety and sanitation should really consider weather or not this place should be open

The Econo Lodge Downtown at 715 W North Temple St, Salt Lake City, UT 84116 is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The TV didn't work, there was no internet, the front door was kicked in and broken, the coffee machine was missing parts and didn't work, there was a plastic bag taped over and hanging from the fire detector, the furniture was broken, the toilet wouldn't flush, the room was dirty, and the linens were dirty. I arrived at the hotel late at night and was immediately greeted by the broken front door. I was hesitant to go inside, but I was tired and needed a place to sleep. The lobby was dark and dingy, and the clerk behind the counter was rude and unhelpful. I checked into my room and was immediately disappointed. The room was small and cramped, and the furniture was old and beat up. The bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets were dirty. The TV didn't work, and there was no internet access. I arrived at the hotel late at night and was immediately greeted by the broken front door. I was hesitant to go inside, but I was tired and needed a place to sleep. The lobby was dark and dingy, and the clerk behind the counter was rude and unhelpful. I checked into my room and was immediately disappointed. The room was small and cramped, and the furniture was old and beat up. The bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets were dirty. The TV didn't work, and there was no internet access. This place is absolutely disgusting!!! Do NOT book with this hotel. I had stains on the pillow cases, towels, sticky stains on the floor, a musty smell in the room and burn holes in the sheets. When I addressed this to the staff I received "fresh" towels that were also covered in stains and no new pillow case. The staff are rude and unprofessional, they keep the lobby locked and only communicate through a small hole in the wall. The woman checking us in made us wait so she could conduct a personal call on her phone. I only stayed one night because I could not handle how disgusting the place was and they refused to give me a refund. Thankfully Expedia stepped in and compensated me, however the property has not answered their phone calls or emails. This place should be taken down from Expedia, how embarrassing.
