Great value for the price. Bed and sheets were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean. Refrigerator were quiet (glad they removed old refrigerators that were making noise in 2021)

Bedroom; fine- bed was clean Main living; pull out couch looked super dirty and was falling apart. Floors didn't look vacuumed/swept. Didn't use the kitchen but the kitchen sink was dirty and and had food bits leftover. Bathroom; NEEDS A SCRUB Overall we had been driving for 10 hours and lots of places were booked up. So for sleeping and leaving in the am it was fine. At least bed was clean. Wouldn't stay again tho.

A place with no middle ground
So Mainstay is such a mixed bag that this is a bit of a weird review. Let's start with the good: 1) Nice staff, easy check-in 2) Good location, both to the bus to the ski fields and surrounding restaurants 3) Free parking 4) Decor update makes it look fresh and modern 5) Good price, especially when you consider it has its own kitchen Ok, based on the above, you'd think it would have pretty high scores, right? 2 things drag it down considerably: 1) Room 106 had bed bugs. How do I know? I checked in at 2am after a long drive. Went to bed at 3am. Woke up again at 4am with two massive welts on my upper arms from bug bites. A decade ago I got bed bugged in Scotland and I'm particular sensitive to them, to the point it looks like I've grown a baby bicep. Anyone who's had them knows how annoying they are, so much so I had to buy medicine for it. Whilst I give full marks for the quick change of room to 104, and I hope its an isolated incident, its still not a pleasant start to a trip 2) My new neighbor who took over my room in 106. The staff actually know him - Scott apparently is a regular. Now I'm sure Scott is lovely, but Scott also has a tendency to sing, and I use that word loosely. Scott has the talent to sing without any musical backing; he's more of a freestyle kinda guy. Unfortunately, God didn't bless him with dulcet tones, and it can only be described as a schizophrenic Cookie Monster during an exorcism. For 4 nights. Yup. So really my title sums it up.

We stayed at this property for a second year in a row for a trip in to ski at Snowbird. It’s an easy 25 minute drive to Snowbird from the hotel-up the hill in good weather, and the location around the hotel is full of restaurants, shops, and other conveniences. The property has a studio apartment feel with a kitchen, full-size refrigerator, stove, etc. I would’ve liked to have a bigger bed or a two bed option but it’s a small queen bed only that I’ve stayed in. Parking was easy and free, easy access to interstate 215 and interstate 15 north and south a few miles away. It’s sort of like having an apartment when I travel which i really prefer vs. a regular hotel room. The staff were generally very friendly. As a lot of people staying, there will be staying multiple days, just be aware that some kitchen smells might be in the hallway. Somebody was microwave cooking Mexican burritos or something like that close to our room and it gets vented into our bathroom, which is a little weird. Overall, we plan on using this as our homebase anytime we come to Salt Lake City. The price was right and so many amenities close by. You don’t have to drive very far to find someplace to eat or shop.

Convenient and Clean but Old
We had a great 9-day stay at a great price, could walk 5 min to many restaurants and shopping, clean, but the building itself is a bit old (feels like the 80s). We would stay there again as we were visiting family and did not spend much time in the room.

My room smelled terrible, like there was a dead animal decaying somewhere. It may have been the pillows. The hallways always had bits of paper/trash on the floor. I hate being disturbed by vacuuming in the hallways every day early in the morning at most hotels I stay at, but it would have been nice if this hotel had vacuumed once a week in the afternoon. Or, the maids could be paid to pick up the bits of paper and discarded wrappers by hand--it wouldn't take more than 15 minutes. I also found the heat was turned up way too high. I had to turn on the air conditioner in my room--in the middle of winter! There were a couple of degenerates who pulled up outside the hotel at 3am with their music blasting. It would have been nice if the management had immediately checked them out. Lots of people had dogs, and there was dog poop, cigarette butts, and trash littering the area outside the hotel.

I do not know how much space I'll be allowed to share my opınıon, but have so many thıngs to say about. Fırst, let me start ın posıtıve way! Thanks for allowıng us to stay at your hotel, seems lıke ıt was affordable (we dıd not expect free of charge, but some condıtıon made us feel so dısappoınted! It ıs not because we expected so much! Wıthın few days after arrıval, lamınated floor area was wet, even though we wıped wıth rags, but dıd not stop. Told the front desk people. They checked and could not fınd what what causıng. We waıted few days. Stıll wet...watery! It was a funny questıon ıf we wanted to change the room. Fınally they provıded another room, closed by. It took too long carryıng all our thıngs because we had lots of thıngs -because we were goıng to stay 3 weeks. we moved to another room at nıght. But, when we wanted to use the toılet...unfortunately, bowl was not flushed!!!! In the mornıng, when we complaın about the sıtuatıon how much made us upset....the respond was at the receptıon desk; "There ıs no reason to get upset!" Instead, wıthout sayıng any word like; "We are so sorry likewise that!", lady (front desk person) was angry because when I told her that as beıng customer of the hotel, we were not very happy wıth the incıdent! Seems like we were the one need to ask for theır forgıveness for our complaınt! So, and fınally we were asked ıf we wanted to have another room. We thanked them for another room! But, late nıght we found that there was a problem wıth

This is a great property to stay at for skiing. It was a nice location and quiet. Some improvements could definitely be made in the rooms. Our sheet was too small and constantly coming off and the top sheet had stains. Additionally the sink didn’t properly drain

I went to go re-check in and was told that I needed to pack my belongings and leave with no explanation of why. I heard from another guest that the manager was mad at me because she called an old phone number of mine that I thought was updated on my account and the person who answered called her a bunch of names and hung up on her. It wasn’t me. I would never hang up on anyone. But because of that, I got kicked out and they wouldn’t give me a refund for that night & the next night that I had already paid for.

The hotel is in desperate need of updates. Mostly what I didn't enjoy about my stay was the dead cockroach I found. When I told the front desk staff about it, he informed me there was nothing he could do about a discount on the room since I had pre-paid for it. I told him to have a manager call me and that never happened. The tables were sticky, the furniture was dirty and had stains on it that I didn't want to know what they were from. They also did not make up your room like most other hotels. If I needed a new towel, I had to bring the dirty one down to get a fresh one.

There was a serious issue where the information Mainstay Suites advertises on expedia was not accurate. When I made my reservation on expedia, it stated a "deposit" of $50 for a pet, $10. The hotel was advertised as pet friendly. When I arrived to check in, I was told they do not allow cats. I explained there was nothing on expedia prohibiting cats. The manager, Sandra, begrudgingly checked me in, without even bothering to point me in the direction of my room. I had to ask. The following morning I returned to the desk with my laptop to show the hotel what I had seen on expedia when booking so it could be corrected. The $50 was described as a deposit, not a fee. I expected it to be returned since I kept my room clean and free of damage. I had to deal with yet another rude employee, who stated I "had no reason to come down to the desk and be rude". I immediately corrected the employee that I DID have a reason to be at the desk asking about this issue, and I had been very polite and considerate. She offered to refund the rest of my stay. Since my vehicle was in the shop I declined. I was booked for an 8 day stay, and this was the morning of day 2. They sent a housekeeper to the room to see if I had checked out while I was in the shower a few hours later. When I called the desk to clarify, I was treated with hostility and expected to check out. I had to call the police, who agree upon arrival that it was illegal for the property to engage in self help evictions. DO NOT STAY HERE

Akasha the manager is amazing!! She went above and beyond to make sure my special needs son would be comfortable, and the room was very spacious and comfortable.. definitely the best experience I have ever had at an extended stay motel

No heater , you’ll freeze
It was raining and cold outside I was looking forward to a warm bath and bed. As soon as I walked in to this room it was freezing, that’s understandable however I turned the heater on and laid down fully clothed and fell asleep in a freezing room , I thought maybe I did something wrong but when I looked I put the heater all the way (old thermostat) I was told someone would be here to fix it and nothing, now I call and no one answers

Much better than I anticipated for the price: spartan but obviously refurbished; clean and very well maintained. Staff were uniformly very pleasant and accommodating. The only disappointment was that the obvious breakfast room was not in use.
