Very spacious and comfortable

Posted Jul 21, 2017
Pros: Spacious rooms, friendly staff
Cons: Cheaper breakfast, parking space reserved for hotel guests
We stayed in standard room and decided last minute to switch my parents' reservation so that their room was closer to ours. The staff quickly facilitated this and got us rooms next to each other. These rooms are so spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms are new and there is even a little cooler in the cupboard area. It was very very comfortable. Breakfast is pricey but you are in downtown SLC so can easily walk anywhere for a cheaper breakfast. Also, on weekends, many events are held in the hotel and parking can be an issue for hotel guests as no car tag is needed to park. All in all, I would recommend this hotel and stay here over and over again.

Really wanted to give it five stars, but....

Posted Jul 19, 2017
...we found someone's left behind sock on the floor. I thought it was one of ours and grabbed it only to find it was not. Ewwww. The hotel staff was great EXCEPT the people working at the outdoor pool. I was there with my three children and we were the only ones even at the pool. I was approached by a young man and asked my name and room number in a way that felt like an interrogation and I wasn't welcome there. After he left, a girl came and noticed I had an "outside beverage" with me and told me it was not allowed. I'm all for hotels wanting to make their money with overpriced pool side food and drinks, but COME ON. I told her I wouldn't drink it anymore but refused to throw it away and she watched me like a hawk the rest of my time at the pool. My kids were hungry (and I was thirsty) so we had to go back to our room just to eat and drink. I've stayed at the Grand across the street four times and thought I'd give Little America a try but after this, I don't know if me and my soda are even welcome. I liked the grounds (we had a garden view room) and location of our room, but the walls were pretty thin. The people in the room next to us kept yelling at each other and had their television on so loud I had to play music just so my kids could fall asleep. It was 11pm. The hallway was also VERY loud. You could hear every word people were saying to each other. During the day I wouldn't have cared, but at 10, 11 and 12pm, it's a nuisance.

Nice Hotel close to light rail

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: Friendly staff. Location.
Location: The light rail connects you to anywhere you need to go. The cost was very good and covered you for the buses as well. The Mormon temple, the shopping.
Arrived a day early, although they were already booked still managed to accommodate us. The room was quiet and the pool was perfect temperature on a super hot day. Would certainly recommend to others.

Posted Jul 17, 2017
Pros: clean and manicured
The hotel, room and pool area was immaculate, staff was helpful, we arrive early, they had a room ready and we were able to enjoy the outdoor pool before the baseball game in 102 degree heat, stayed here for over 50 years, always the best affordable hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah!

House keeping could do better

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Pros: restaurant in the hotel.
Cons: House keeping
Nice hotel. I've stayed there many times but the last couple of time I notices that house keeping isn't keeping the mold away from the bath area caulk.

Close to the event

Posted Jul 15, 2017
I had a garden room but it's facing a busy street. It's hard to go to sleep with the noise of the cars passing by.
