Eclecticism at its finest

Posted Feb 5, 2016
This hotel epitomized the old school feel. It takes you back to a different era while putting you at the center of downtown salt Lake City. A cozey feel and friendly staff. I will stay here again.

The Peery hotel is a great little hotel and it was a nice visit. It is close to lots of different attractions in downtown Salt Lake City. They one downside is that they don't have free parking on site.

good downtown location, lobby great character

Posted Jan 30, 2016
Pros: location character
Cons: no electricity in gym couldn't use it, needs a hot tub for after a ski day
Location: Valters Restaurant
much better then typical cheap small motels but I would preferred a typical Sheraton etc. without character but with much more comfort... overall disappointing

Historic

Pros: Comfortable bed Great location Decent gym
Cons: Customer service
Location: Great food within walking distance
Customer service was cold and it felt like I was a bother. There was no effort to make the visit pleasant.

Nice hotel with old world charm, comfy beds.

Posted Jan 25, 2016
The negatives are that there is no parking (costs about $6 overnight) and that the rooms are small. The positives: close to many restaurants, bars, good area, centrally located and the bed was super comfortable. Staff was welcoming. Looks like it stepped out of the 1920's. Free decent breakfasts.

Historic hote, could be great stay if renovated

Posted Jan 23, 2016
They first gave me a tiny room where the sink had a problem and the floor was all splashed with water. Then they gave me a larger room but the blinds wouldn't work, which I didn't find out until late at night when I tried pulling them down. I had requested a wake up call to make sure I didn't miss my flight; they never called me. Fortunately, I had set an alarm on my phone as a back up and got to the airport on time. It's a nice old hotel which, if renovated, would be ideal for a downtown Salt Lake City stay.

I made the reservation the same day for a great price. I loved the ambiance of the hotel. Free hot tea & Cocoa in the lobby next to the fire place was lovely during my stay in the winter. Any place I wanted to go in the downtown area was walkable from the hotel. Highly recommended!

Charming downtown hotel

Posted Jan 14, 2016
Pros: Loved the antiques, décor, and the beautiful smell.
Location: we walked across the street and ate at Squatter's Pub----food excellent. Next time will try Ruth's Chris Steak House on other corner.
Loved the "look" of it. Enjoyed the large windows to look at town decorated in Christmas lights. Very nice breakfast. And the whole hotel smelled wonderful.
