Great hotel, great location, beautiful city!Posted Oct 2, 2015
Pros: Tram stop from the airport right opposite the front door of the hotel; very clean and welcoming atmosphere; good breakfast choices.
Cons: A small public bar in the hotel for guests would have ended each day quite nicely and tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom.
Location: The hotel is in the new town, close to the beautiful Mirabell palace and gardens, 10 minute stroll to the famous old town, river, castle, shopping.
Three day break to Salzburg so needed a centrally located hotel. The Hotel am Mirabellplatz in the new town was perfect for us. The old town offers everything - beautiful squares and architecture, Mozart, shopping, markets, museums, Irish bars, restaurants, segwaying. There are so many stunning views - from the fortress, museum of modern art and the Kapuzinerberg, as well as just strolling by the river. The new town has lovely (but expensive) shops, good restaurants (try Shrimps) and a 'must' is a slice of sachertorte in the Hotel Sacher! Will definitely re-visit Salzburg and would stay at the hotel am Mirabellplatz again.

Convenient location. Nice hotel.Posted Sep 18, 2015
Very close to center of everything. Very convenient location. Within walking distance (22 mins +/-) from train station. Hop on off bus stop across the street if you are interested. It was slightly difficult to find when walking from train station (esp when hot and tired and dragging big luggage around)

Cons: Room Furnishings need to be updated.
Location: Good location. easy walk to everywhere
Conveniently located for walking to anywhere in town. Parking garage nearby, around the corner. Does have an elevator if you're on top floors. Older hotel. Quite. No Air conditioning. Clean but dated. Staff was very helpful. Furnishings were dated. Getting to hotel by car was easy. Overall OK, but for the price it was a good value.

Einzelzimmer haben tatsächlich Einzelbetten, die sehr klein sind und an der Wand stehen. Keine Klimaanlage, was im heißen Sommer fatal ist. Wlan ein wenig schwach. Lage allerdings top.

Mostly pleasant stay in SalzburgPosted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: The staff were accommodating, and the location was excellent, across the street from Schloss Mirabell.
Cons: It probably is not possible to retrofit A/C, but it would be a welcome addition.
Location: The location is close to the sights of the old city, Mirabell Gardens, Festunghohensalzburg, the Festspielhaus, excellent restaurants, bus stops.
We were in Salzburg for the Festival in early August. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, with temperatures soaring well into the 90s (Fahrenheit). The hotel, like most others in Salzburg, has no A/C. The room at times was sweltering and never was really comfortable. We bought a fan (which we later donated to the hotel to be given to other steamy guests), but it was of only minimal value. The staff could not have been more helpful; the room was clean and comfortable otherwise. The high temperatures were abnormal for Salzburg, but be warned if you are accustomed to having A/C and you plan to visit in midsummer.

A very noisy hotelPosted Aug 6, 2015
Cons: air conditioning nad sound proofing
Ther is no aricon and when it is hot the rooms are very hot at night. Opening the windows lets in far too much noise - the hotel is near a busy road and seems to be near a late night drinking area. many of the guests were also inconsiderate and noisy. Don't expect much sleep!

Excellent LocationPosted Aug 1, 2015
Directly across from Mirabell Gardens, the hotel is located close to all attractions so a car is unnecessary. The rooms are very clean and welcoming. Travelers should note that most accommodations do not have AC so it could be somewhat uncomfortable in a Summer months. The hotel does provide fans, however.
