Loved it!

This is one of my favorite hotels of all time! I loved the lady who welcomed us and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of through out our stay. She was lovely. (Unfortunately I don't remember her name. Sorry.) We loved walking out of the hotel and being right in the center of everything. We were there during the Christmas Markets and literally we just walked down the cute little ally, crossed a small street and there was a market. I loved our unique decor, the delicious natural teas and toiletries. Salzburg in general was a lovely place to travel. The people are wonderful and the city is charming.

Living in luxury

Pros: Staff members, comfort, style
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Loads of concert halls, shops, restaurants within walking distance. This place was in the centre of the old town - perfect.
From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed and looked after - nothing was too much trouble and every question I had or booking I wanted made was quickly attended to. The room was gorgeous, comfortable, spacious and scrupulously clean. The shower was fabulous, kitchenette and IT facilities terrific, downstairs restaurant had the best beef steak I've ever tasted and the most superb local red wine (big call coming from an Aussie). This hotel is something completely different from anything I have ever experienced before. It was truly a lovely home away from home and made my stay in Salzburg perfect. Oh yes, and they have the Sound of Music permanently available on a video channel. Nice!

Modern rooms in a charming ancient building

Pros: Modern yet charming.
Location: The hotel is in the center of all the action in old Salzburg. The location couldn't be better.
Goldgasse is medieval alley-like street in Old Town that has been occupied by merchants for centuries. Nettled on this street, Hotel Goldgasse is a very modern hotel in an ancient building. Rooms are super clean, beds are comfy, bathrooms are very up-to-date, showers are fabulous, and the location in the center of Old Town makes sight-seeing in Salzburg easy. It has a small lift (take it to the reception area on the second level) and the hotel staff are excellent and speak English with ease. Our only complaint was the lack of air conditioning. We visited in mid-July and the days were quite warm, so the room was warm even with windows open. The nights, however, were cool and despite a bit of outside noise through the open windows, we slept very comfortably. This is a great boutique hotel with a small number of charming rooms. We recommend it.

A boutique hotel in the old city center

Pros: The setting, the staff, and the amenities.
Location: In addition to its cultural attractions, Salzburg has a beautiful setting on the Danube River just north of the Alps. Children are welcome everywhere.
Hotel Goldgasse in Salzburg is in a historic building in the pedestrian district of the old city, just steps from the baroque cathedral, two palaces, art and history museums, a magnificent old fortress, concert halls, and a myriad of restautants and shops. It is ideal for visitors who want to wander and explore rather than follow a schedule and worry about how to get from place to place in a crowded, compact city. The hotel staff is attentive to guests' every need without being obtrusive.

I would definitely stay at the hotel again. It's a small hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Near all the amenities. Perfect location for sightseeing. I walked everywhere from the Dome to Mozarts home and all major galleries. It's less than 30 mins from the Airport and it will cost you 15 Euro's to get there.

Pros: Location, staff, amenities, room appointments.....EVERYTHING!
Location: This hotel is in the perfect location to visit Salzburg's old town. You are able to walk to every museum, church and tourist site.
The owner/manager of this hotel was extremely helpful and she made me feel welcome right away. I also really appreciated the complimentary beverages and espresso machine in my room. The best part, though was the unique décor of the room and the fact that it had an updated bathroom including electricity in the bathroom (a rarity in Europe).

Had a very pleasant patio area that was very nicely landscaped. Made for a very nice place to enjoy coffee and just relax. Bathroom was modern and very clean. I would highly recommend.

Location: Old Town of Salzburg Everything Salzburg has to offer - the sights, Fortress, churches, museums etc are just steps away
I just had two great nights at Hotel Goldgasse and was impressed at what a great place it was. It's in the heart of the Old Town in a quiet little shopping street, a step from all the beautiful sights and attractions of Salzburg. The rooms are super comfortable and stylish with nice little touches and artwork to make your room feel unique. The manager Ulreika was a delight and the perfect hostess. She was so welcoming and always on hand to ensure you were having a good stay.

Pros: Wonderfully sized rooms and large bath room. Good coffee/tea choices.
I chose this hotel based on the Expedia reviews and was very impressed. The hotel manager is lovely! She greeted us, offered tea/coffee and sweets and personally carried bags to our room to show us every detail. She was always smiling and very helpful in sorting out sightseeing and dining. The hotel restaurant is not to be missed so please make reservations for it when you arrive. The shower (size, water pressure and sprayers) are luxurious.
