Overpriced hotel Witherspoon bad service

Posted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Location, breakfast
Cons: Condition of the hotel but mainly service
Location: 15 minute walk to the center of Salzburg
Cons: The air conditioning was not working under 28 degrees Celsius. The lift did not reach all the floors and we had no help to carry our luggage to the room. Employees are very rude. Pros: The location is good and the breakfast is fine. The price is not proportional to the service and the condition of the hotel.

Great Hotel, centrally located!

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Breakfast was exceptional
Cons: Service on check in. The porters were wonderful, breakfast staff great, the guy who checked us in was arrogant and not a service oriented guy, actor.
Location: Great location!
It was a very nice hotel. I gave some less than stellar marks because upon arrival with an unexpected leg injury (I was in a cast and unable to bear weight) they put me down stairs, indicating that it was only 2. It ended up being lots of steps. I can't imagine there was no room in that hotel right off an elevator where I wouldn't have had to navigate steps. I ended up considering it a challenge, should have pushed back once I realized. Anyway, was never happy with the guy who checked me in and acted very service oriented but was anything but. The hotel though is very nice. Breakfast was one of my favorites in Germany. We really enjoyed the stay.

Die Damen im Frühstücksservice

Posted Aug 18, 2015

Air conditioned in the heat

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: The airconditioning and the friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Better clarity about how to use the parking voucher would help
Location: It is in Salzburg. Summer Music and Opera and Plays and Concerts 25 July to end August and other music festivals at Easter and Whitsun.
I was in Salzburg for two days during a heatwave and it was a relief to find my room, in the annexe opposite the main hotel, to be fully airconditioned. Staff were helpful, breakfasts were reasonably good and there was a reduced parking rate in the nearby public parking garage, though working out how to use the discount card was rather tricky I found. it is a bout 15 minutes leisurely walk from the main Festival venues and on the unfashionable (but cheaper ) side of the river.

Excellent location for shops and restaurants

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Overall the hotel was an excellent choice and vey good value for money.
Cons: The only negative thing about our stay was the level of noise at night and in the early morning with deliveries, even though we were high up.
Location: The old town is only five minutes walk away where there are plenty of things to see and do. Salzburg cards are worth buying.
The hotel staff were all very kind and helpful. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent. Our room in the annexe was roomy enough for three and had air-con which was useful as it hit 34degrees while we were there. The spa area was also a welcome addition, even though the pool is quite small it was large enough to swim in and very enjoyable after a day out sight-seeing.

Great location just off of the Pedestrian street.

Very nice hotel within walking distance to everything yet quiet. The spa area is very nice. Great full breakfast with a large selection of high quality foods. Really nice staff. Complimentary afternoon coffee, tea and cakes. We had a fan in our room which helped. Interesting Mozart themed decor in our suite was a bit much but we had plenty of room.

Very friendly hotel in a great location

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Situated just off the old town of Salzburg, this is a very pleasant hotel with extremely pleasant and attentive staff. The rooms are comfortable and mine was spacious. Not the most modern of décor but appropriate for where it is.

Weird Hotel - do not reserve a suite

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The Spa Breakfast Coffee/Tea hour Location
Cons: The rooms are in desparate need of remodeling - get rid of the bizarre kitsch...
Location: Everything is very close to this hotel. Walking distance to every attraction in Salzburg
Good location in Salzburg but bizarre suites. They spent a ton of money on their spa, but their rooms are very lacking and they should have put more money into those. Our suite was some kind of bizarre theme with literally a manufactured tree in the middle of the room, strange carved parrots on the bed and in the bathroom, and colors in the room that would make you nauseous. And literally a tub in the middle of the bathroom with no curtains etc. No shower, just a tub and you spray water everywhere. And no AC either so beware in the summer - it got hot during our trip. Breakfast was good and so was the free coffee/tea hour in the afternoon. Staff was helpful and nice. The description on Expedia for the suites was not accurate. My friends also had a suite and they also said it was bizarre.
