Excellent hotel and staff in very good locationPosted Sep 26, 2015
Pros: Location, amenities, value for money and staff.
Location: The location of the hotel is close to the old town, a pedestrian precinct full of shops, bars & cafes. Couldn't have chosen a better location.
Arrived early and met with friendly staff who allowed us to our room, great start. Hotel is in a great location close to old town, bars, cafes, shops and restaurants. Hotel is very nice, rooms comfortable and kept very clean. There is a Spa of which is stunning and you must make the use of. Breakfast was very good with good range of foods. Staff very attentive and friendly. If we return to Salzburg we will book this hotel again, highly recommended.

Superior in almost every way.Posted Sep 24, 2015
Pros: Location, comfort, quality, ambience, staff, price.
Cons: Soundproofing in the Residenz could be improved - in my room I could hear the TV and conversations from the room opposite.
Location: Linzergasse, Kapuzinerberg, St Sebastian's Church and Cloister, all nearby. Cathedral, Abbeys, and Hohensalzburg fortress are over the bridge.
The hotel and Residence exists in multiple buildings, and I was in the "Residenz" building across the road from the main reception. This meant walking across the (quiet) road to breakfast every morning; this was no issue to me (although I'd imagine it might be less pleasing in midwinter). The area of the hotel was ideal for the shopping street Linzergasse which takes you right down to the bridge across the river to the heart of Salzburg. The public areas of the hotel were spotless and very welcoming; complimentary tea, coffee, and patisserie bites are served in the hotel lounge at 3.30pm daily, which was a very welcoming touch. Breakfasts were good, with a wider selection of breakfast goods than you sometimes find. All the staff I encountered spoke English which was a godsend for all of us, I suspect.

Good location, great family roomPosted Sep 22, 2015
Stayed for one night in a family room for four. This is not located in the main hotel building but across the street in an apartment building. Not really an inconvenience, only that you have to go across the street for breakfast or the front desk. The apartment building has an elevator up to the 3rd floor and then you have to walk up stairs to the 4th floor, for this family room. The room has two levels, two sofa beds in the lower level and a double bed on the top level. The sofa beds are not very comfortable but acceptable. There are two full bathrooms, one on each level. There is A/C but unfortunately we did not find how to turn it on until the next morning as you have to put in your card key! We suffered a very hot room during the night but it was our mistake for not looking closely at the instructions. We were tired when we got in that night. There is a church nearby that rings its bells early in the morning and because the room is at a high level it seems as if the bells are ringing inside the room! Not very pleasing but... interesting. The hotel does not have a parking garage of its own but there is a nice public parking garage two blocks away, which the hotel validates for a special overnight fee. The breakfast buffet was good and the location is perfect as you can easily walk to anywhere within downtown Salzburg. Many restaurants to choose from around the corner.

Exceptional service makes for a pleasant stayPosted Sep 14, 2015
Location: Restaurants, shopping, tours
This hotel has old world style. Rooms are small and modest. However, there are nice ammenities and a superb staff to help one maximize their visit. I would recommend the hotel for proximity to the new and old downtown areas of Salzburg and for excellent support while you are there.

Good location but poor facilites and staffPosted Sep 9, 2015
We found the hotel to be very convient to old town with good parking(extra cost). Staff at reception gave pression we we taking up their time (never friendly). Room was very small and extremely hot approx 30 C direct sun...no air conditioning poor broken fan. Would recommend another choice.

Centrally located and very comfortablePosted Sep 5, 2015
Pros: Central location, comfort, quality, cleanliness, helpful and friendly staff. City hotel with a pool! Beautiful breakfast buffet & afternoon tea&cake
Cons: In our room an explanation of the switches would have been advantageous. 2 of them opened the half closed shutters but it took us ages to work out
Location: 15 mins stroll to city centre. Mirabelle Palace&Gardens, Mozart's birthplace and residence, Fortress, cathedral, plenty of restaurants and shops.
Stayed in one of the newer rooms across the street from reception. Beautifully decorated and very spacious. Easy walking distance to City centre and all attractions-Fortress, Mozart's birthplace, Mozart's Residence, Mirabelle Gardens. As much or as little Sound of Music as you want. Hotel is situated on several easy-to-understand bus routes. We caught the No 2 bus to the station and then the No 25 bus out to Hellebrunne Gardens and palace with the trick fountains. Everyone we met was very helpful and so very friendly. Definitely buy a Salzburg card once you have worked out your excursions. We only bought it for 24 hours as our trip to Hellbrunne was cheaper without

Overpriced hotel Witherspoon bad servicePosted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Location, breakfast
Cons: Condition of the hotel but mainly service
Location: 15 minute walk to the center of Salzburg
Cons: The air conditioning was not working under 28 degrees Celsius. The lift did not reach all the floors and we had no help to carry our luggage to the room. Employees are very rude. Pros: The location is good and the breakfast is fine. The price is not proportional to the service and the condition of the hotel.
