Terrible Check-in Experience

Pros: Breakfast was OK; close to a mall and train station.
Cons: Staff were generally unfriendly and unhelpful; beds uncomfortable
We called a week before arrival to verify we could get connecting rooms (we have young kids). The front desk person locked in two connected rooms with the appropriate bed configuration and assured us we would have these rooms. When we arrived, I verified with the front desk clerk that we had connecting rooms - she said yes. I asked if I use my hotel key to get into and out of the garage - she said yes. Well that's not how to get in and out of the garage and we did not have connecting rooms. I suspect she didn't speak English and just said yes to anything you asked. I should have asked her if breakfast was included :-) It took about 30 minutes for another clerk to find us proper rooms. Once we were settled in, my kids were startled awake by somebody trying to get into the room. It turns out the hotel booked somebody else into the room. Then we booked a tour through the front desk (same woman who checked us in) and requested hotel pickup. They booked the tour, but forgot to ask for hotel pickup. We almost missed the tour, but the hotel did the right thing and paid for a taxi. When checking out, they asked if everything was OK. I started recounting all the issues we had (plus the fact that we didn't get our room cleaned one day and the beds are hard). She just ignored me, gave me the receipt, and said to have a nice day.

Near train station but don't expect much service

Waited for a long time at the check -in counter only to be told to come back after 3pm because it was not check in time yet.

Get an executive floor room

Pros: Executive rooms, gym/spa, nice common area. Great staff.
Cons: Probably upgrade / renovate the non-business floor rooms / corridors.
Location: It's by the train station. Nothing really to do nearby. You need to get to the center of town via bus or car. Lots of public parking ($) in town.
Stayed in Salzburg for 8 days. Not close to center - it's by the train station. You can take a bus or drive to the center of town. The hotel is nice - very nice common areas, spa / sauna / fitness / pool. The executive floor (business rooms) is very nice. The other floors look run down and I think the rooms are bad. But the business rooms are renovated with wooden floors - very nice. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is mediocre - nice variety, but not very high quality. Restaurant people very nice. Parking is in an adjoining public garage, access directly to the hotel, but costs 16 eur / 24 hrs. Convenient.

Excellent and pleasant place to stay

Quiet, clean and pleasant stay, comfortable bed and easy accessibility to facilities and the city at large. An uneventful but nonetheless pleasant and comfortable stay for five nights over Christmas holidays, will definitely consider strongly for any repeat visits.

Comfortable place

Wyndham Salzburg is located 5 min walk from the main train and bus station. Next to the hotel, there is a small shopping center where most shopping needs can be satisfied, but the main tourist area is about 15 min away by bus. Salzburg is a nice city to visit, and the hotel is great because it is near public transportation facilities. The beds are extremely comfortable, in modern rooms, with small refrigerator and a safe. the bathrooms have bath tub and shower. On the downside is the price of food, breakfast buffet costs 18 Eur/adult and 9 EUR/child. Internet speed was great. The place is great when you spend most of the day out and wish to get back to relax and rest.

Book two twin rooms but got the double bed rooms which was very uncomfortable and inconvenient for us (4 adults). The hotel is much older than it looks in the photos given. Check-in was super slow too.

Quality going down...

Quality has gone down heavily last 2years at this hotel. Leaking shower, uncomfortable beds, loud aircon too hot rooms....
