Admire the sleek glass façade of the Samsung Innovation Museum from the street. Make your way inside and find out what’s on display at the museum’s ever-changing exhibitions. The four main exhibition halls aim to explore the different ideas of what innovation means.

Begin in the hall dedicated to the history of Samsung. Learn about the little IT company that became a world leader in electronic innovation. Based in Suwon, Samsung Electronics initially produced electrical appliances, such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and calculators. The company then expanded into audiovisual devices and released its first cellphone in 1988. Samsung’s production of inventive semi-conductors, visual displays and cellphones has made an imprint on the way we use technology today.

Check out the Seeds of Innovation exhibition hall to learn about what inspires the inventors of technology. The Core of Innovation exhibit delves into what goes on behind the screen. Explore the Inspiring Innovation exhibit to find out what awaits us in the future of electronic discovery and check out Samsung’s new-release gadgets and devices. Try out new devices at hands-on displays or take part in the museum’s educational program.

The Samsung Innovation Museum is located within the Yeongtong-gu district of Suwon. Admission to the museum is free. Make an appointment to visit the museum on weekdays when it can be explored with a guided tour. Guides are available in English, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish. On Saturdays, no prior booking is required but tours are not available. The museum is closed on Sundays and national holidays.
