Posada de la Plaza

Posted Aug 20, 2017
Pros: Lovely breakfast and pretty property in the back.
Location: It's about a 10 minute walk from where most of the shopping is, however town is small enough and navigable enough that getting around is easy.
About a 10 minute walk from main shops. Staff were very helpful. Room was a little tired.

Cons: They do not accept credit cards....also a bit pricy compared to others
We were there on a sunday and there were queues to get into the major restaurants and tried a bit later.... but beware, they close early.

Gaucho Getaway

Posted Feb 27, 2016 on Hotels
The friendly staff person made horseback riding reservations. Spent a wonderful day on a ranch with a gaucho cowboy. We also attended a folk dance evening where locals were dancing traditional dances. This was not a tourist show, but authentic dance club keeping alive their traditions and having a great time doing it. Great food at a local Parilla.

Very accommodating staff, friendly They let us stay in the lobby for two hours waiting in the warmth instead of us having to go and wait at the bus station

Quaint, gem

Posted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Everything. It was just a very comfortable place to stay
Cons: Although the breakfast was adequate, they could improve on the selection.
Location: Near the town square of San Antonio de Areco and the estancias.
Wonderful place. The hotel has only about 6 rooms so it's quiet and quiant - more like a B&B. The hotel is nicely decorated with tile floors and old style furniture. There is a beautiful garden in back and nice places to sit and enjoy the outside and a glass of wine or whatever. It was a perfect getaway from Buenos Aires. We wished we would have been able to stay more than one night. The hotel owners were very accommodating and assisted us in planning our stay in the area.

Rustic posada centrally located.

Posted Mar 23, 2013
Pros: Friendly proprietress; good location.
Cons: Bathroom was small and old fashioned.
Location: Short walk to restaurants, central plaza and craft shops.
This is a quaint family run posada in walking distance of downtown San Antonio; the proprietress is most accomodating and helpful with tourist information. The room and bath are rather rustic, but comfortable enough, with welcome air conditioning.

A Tranquil, Lovely Spot

Posted Jan 29, 2013 on Hotels
Posada de la Plaza is a tranquil, well-cared for accommodation. The courtyard and gardens are lovely and provide a lovely place to read and visit. The hotel is carefully cared for and decorated in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The staff were attentive and helpful going above and beyond. Restaurants, attractions and shops are within easy walking distance. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful old colonial home

Posted Nov 16, 2011
Location: Stay near the center.
Posada de la Plaza is in a beautifully maintained 19th century home located across the street from a pretty little plaza. We had a room in the original home facing the interior courtyard and it was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. We did not see the rooms in an adjacent (newer?) building. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was pretty standard (good coffee, juice and a variety of breads). It's a very pleasant 4 or 5 block walk to the main square of San Antonio de Areco. Highly recommended.
