The front door at the church in the San Jose Mission was the highlight of this place for me. Again, this place is not to be missed! Arches #findingtheuniverse #stunningstructures The San Jose Mission in San Antonio, TX is rich with history and much bigger than the Alamo. It's just outside of downtown and completely worth the drive. It's also a public park, so it's free to check it out. I went there just after sunrise, and much like most locations worthy of taking pictures, the time of day was perfect for lack of people in your shots, and perfect sunlight for those classic silhouette shots. If you're in San Antonio, it's definitely worth the trip to see. Not the most visited or the largest of the missions in San Antonio but in my opinion the most dignified. It's not all about the Alamo. The iconic River Walk in downtown San Antonio I feel the history. In 1720, Fray Antonio Margil de Jesús founded what became the best known of the Texas Missions, San José y San Miguel de Aguayo. Viewedas a model of Mission organization, Mission San José was a major social center.
We stopped at two of the four Franciscan Missions in San Antonio. This Mission was started in 1720 just after the Spanish first explored Texas. The Native Americans were given the opportunity to be a part of the settlement and helped build and maintain the many Missions in Texas and North America. One of the missions.
#StunningStructures More then just the Alamo - the San Antonio missions are a beautiful, historical and cultural part of Texas. Now a USNPS site and UNESCO world heritage site. #stunningstructures Mission San Jose, Dan Antonio, TX. The second Mission of the four Missions in the San Antonio area. A lovely walk among stately old mansions, beautiful trees, and artsy bridges. Stop by the Blue Start complex for a beer afterwards. One of the best sandwiches in town if not the state. Their bread and sauces are made from scratch. The Habanero Turkey Sandwich. Spicy! #FoodieFinds Excellent Mexician Food, this is the Albondigas, meatballs. #FoodieFinds Nice spot in Southtown.
