The hotel is located on the river walk and within walking distance to the Alamo and many good restaurants. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming with friendly staff. The room is clean and thoughtfully appointed. We were also pleasantly surprised by a plate of fresh fruit upon our arrival and another one after the turn-down service. We highly recommend Moraka for your stay in San Antonio.

We were told at checkin that this was a “full service” hotel so no ice machines on any floor. Just call and staff would bring ice. Most times, ice arrived within 10 minutes. On a couple of occasions, it took almost 30 minutes. We had to request cleaning services everyday-it was not automatic. For the price of the room, housekeeping should be a given. We toured the spa, and while nice, it is separate for men and women. Understandable since there is a clothing optional policy. While some guests may enjoy this, for my husband and me, we weren’t thrilled with sitting in a sauna, steam room or whirlpool with strangers. Would have preferred a spa where we could enjoy it together. Overall, the hotel is nice and conveniently located for all things associated with the Riverwalk.

Had a very pleasant stay at the Mokara. Staff is truly excellent and very welcoming. Hotel appearance is dated but not shabby or worn at all. Room was very comfortable (with terrible view of parking lot but you get what you pay for!). Rate was very good value. Breakfast was prompt and tasty. Ostra restaurant unfortunately has a pretty persistent smell of fish which I did not appreciate at breakfast! Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Nice location. The room is spacious and comfortable. Adding a bed is free, which is very nice. Very close to the dinning, shopping, cruise ticketing.

Hardly stay at the hotel due to the reason to my trip, family memorial. I requested late check out since i returned to the hotel at 3 am and needed to sleep, pack and get ready to leave. Called the front desk at 10:30 am and they denied my request by telling me that I had to be out by 11:00 am. If I wanted a late check out I had to pay, at that point I had no other choice but to pay. This is the first time that a hotel won’t accommodate a small request. I will never again stay at this chain of hotels.

One of my new favorite hotels ever! The level of service from the staff was exceptional. Great spa and rooftop pool, and fantastic room service. The robes and slippers in the room were a delightful treat. And what a fun surprise to have a balcony overlooking the Riverwalk! The only concern was that the excellent rooftop cafe smelled a bit like natural gas, though I did let management know. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and hope to be back soon!

It’s a lovely boutique hotel located on the river walk in San Antonio. The rooms are excellent - everything from the comfortable bed to the stocked refrigerator to the daily water bottles provided to the spacious bathroom with separate spa tub and walk in shower. We had dinner one evening in your restaurant and we were not especially impressed. The waiter was clearly ‘green’ and needed more training. It took an unusually long time for our dishes to arrive once we ordered. We asked our waiter why and did not get a logical answer. He said our order was waiting in line in the kitchen, whatever that meant. We sat on the patio instead of inside and our waiter did not check to see if we needed anything such as another drink, while we waited. For the level of the restaurant and price of the meals I would have expected better service. ***One a positive note, the female bartender made killer chocolate martinis.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mokara over the Christmas holiday. The staff, service and amenities were excellent. We spent Christmas Eve in the rooftop hot tub, overlooking the festively decorated San Antonio Riverwalk. The location is unmatched. Once you walk out of the hotel, you are literally on the Riverwalk only a short distance to many restaurants and stores. We also took advantage of the in-house spa services and enjoyed a couple's massage on one of our first days at the property. Overall the experience was outstanding. We plan on visiting San Antonio again soon, and we will undoubtedly be making accommodations at the Mokara.

Our stay was amazing. We had a balcony overlooking the riverwalk. The spa was perfect for a couple's massage. Food was very delicious and the staff were exceptional.

The staff is the best part of this hotel. Everyone was so warm, friendly, respectful and helpful. Great southern hospitality! Loved the room and beautiful bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Fitness facility was well-equipped. The spa was amazing. I very much enjoyed my stone massage and the relaxation room, as well as steam room. Room service was great. Loved everything. Had a wonderful stay! Would definitely stay here again when in San Antonio!

My wife and I enjoyed our 3 day stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and our room was spacious and quiet. After telling the concierge that we were celebrating our anniversary, a complimentary bottle of bubbly and fresh fruits was delivered to our room. Nice touch. The hotel is conveniently located to the Alamo and all restaurants.
