Nicest hotel in San Antonio

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Everything, especially the atmosphere. And it smelled nice too.
Cons: I don't think anything, maybe newer beds, though the ones we had were very comfortable.
Location: Everything is at your doorstep, the Riverwalk, the Alamo, nightclubs, etc.
I loved the atmosphere of this wonderful hotel. It was right in the middle of downtown but yet was quiet and peaceful. It felt to me like a visit to a bed and breakfast in a previous era. The wooden floors, quilts on the wall and period furniture were lovely. There were many places to sit and enjoy your stay, wandering around the hotel was an experience in itself. The staff was excellent and the rooms were quiet. I'd definitely recommend a stay here!

Unique hotel centrally located

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Character and decor plus great location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Riverwalk, Alamo, Alamo Stadium plus all major San Antonio attractions
Great historical hotel right near the riverwalk. Wood floors and tall ceilings with remarkable charm. Bathrooms were all updated with huge walk-in showers. Daily afternoon snacks and wine receptions were a plus. Breakfasts were great with many options including quiche, scones, fruit and an apple coffee cake I couldn't resist. Limited size so get that personal attention. Unique and charming, we can't wait to return!

Great Stay! Not a chain...

Posted Jul 20, 2015
No offense to Hilton or Marriott but this hotel was not your standard modern cookie cutter hotel. It was an old structure and more like a bed & breakfast in style which is exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the Hemisfair Vista room which meant you could see the Hemisfair tower building as well as the top of the Alamo Dome. It was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the relaxing time. The parking is different so if you stay here, be aware that you need to park at a garage about a 1/2 block away for $18/day. Also, there is a ton of hustle-bustle from morning to late night in the area as it is a few steps from the Riverwalk and a block from The Alamo. Totally in the center of a ton of action & whatever action you're looking to be a part of but like an oasis of calm once you step inside. Our innkeeper Patty (the person in charge) was totally cool and made the stay perfect. She was there if/when we had questions but never hovered over us which is why I'd concider her a complete professional. Overall, I'd highly recommend it here for both business and pleasure.

Ideal Location. Great Romantic Stay.

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Only a limited number of rooms make and excellent staff make you feel like your stay is special.
Cons: Parking rate discount for the public garage especially for extended stays.
Location: Riverwalk, The Alamo, Historic Downtown all just around the corner
We had a great view out our floor to ceiling windows of Cafe Rio. Easy access to the riverwalk and the Alamo. Staff was so accommodating and complimentary lemonade, cookies, wine, and breakfast empanadas doesn't hurt either.

Boutique hotel close to convention center

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Nice accommodation, great breakfast, wine and cookies in the afternoon.
Location: Located by the Riverwalk with close proximity to everything downtown.
We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the convention center. We could have stayed at a larger chain hotel, but prefer a smaller, quaint environment.
