Nice hotel. Rare balcony. Clean. Good location for everything. Construction somdont know about food or drink in house. Fair rate.

Great hotel!

We loved the Kimpton Palomar. The staff was friendly and helpful, room was spacious and clean and the location was great to walk all over town. Definitely recommend.

Great hotel for business travel

Pros: Kimpton Hotels are a favorite and every staff member we encountered was wonderful. The pool area is very nice.
Cons: Nothing, other than the location.
Location: Location is akin to Pioneer Square if you're from Seattle...lots of bars and clubs, and lots of homeless people. Not the best. Better on weeknights.
The staff here went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, however the location is very noisy on the weekends. We didn't know the Gaslight District is party central, plus it was Marti Gras weekend. We spent a long weekend there and the work nights were ok, but the weekend nights were noisy with people and cars racing by until the wee hours. Oliver was gracious to move us to a higher room, but the noise still made sleeping difficult. Would be a great hotel for business travelers.

Heart of activity with attentive staff

Staff was amazing and accommodating! Through luck of the draw, we had some noisy neighbors partying late night, which really did not make for good sleeping, but again staff was really responsive to this.

Wonderful Experience in San Diego

The service was excellent. The building itself is very stylish. The room was perfectly appointed. This hotel understands that guests want a unique and beautiful experience, and the staff provides beauty in every way- from the layout of the room service tray, to how the cleaning staff organizes your notebooks and reading material. I will be looking for a Palomar for my next trip!

Hotel is undergoing reconstruction, affecting lobby area, eliminating restaurant. This was not disclosed at time of booking, causing some inconvenience and disruption.
