While we appreciated the helpfulness and friendliness of the front desk staff, as well as the comfort and amenities provided in the room, our overall experience was marred by a disappointing breakfast. Despite waiting 15 minutes at the front desk for seating, and another 10 minutes without being attended to for drinks after being seated, the service fell short. We had to repeatedly request assistance from the waitress, and even after requesting warm milk for our son, it never arrived. This series of events left us with a negative impression of our stay.

I like this hotel but our hotel bed sheets were not cleaned. When I asked for room service to change the sheets we came back and not sheets were not switched. They had blood on the sheet and the blanket was brown like it hadn’t been washed properly.

The property is located in a good area; it is accessible to the beach front, shopping and the freeway. The breakfast deal is well worth it. The staff in the cafe are wonderful. The parking is expensive but the access is easy for the self-park option. The front desk staff is less than desirable. Check-in was mediocre and unfriendly. We had to follow-up in the room regarding wifi access and other information. While unloading our luggage, an unidentified man was trying to open our door - aggressively because it wasn't opening. We were terrified only to find out that it was maintenance delivering a mini-fridge but we did not receive notice from the front desk or anyone else. The elevators were of great concern because they were not operating correctly - there were many comments from other guests while riding about our safety. After one stopped, dropped and then sat motionless and then suddenly shot up, we didn't ride them again. When we advised the front desk we received the same uninterested, lackadaisical attention - that elevator remained in use even though we suggested they shut it down.

Marriott told us that Expedia over sold and we have no room with double bed and we must go somewhere else. It was a mistake booking with Expedia. We also booked with Expedia when we went to Paris and we did not get the room we wanted and we had to stay somewhere else and expedia has not yet refunded our $1200.

For a Marriott I was disappointed on its lack of cleanliness. The bathroom was filthy with a tub that was thick with grime. The beds made us itchy and overall it was an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience.

I did like the property but when we checked in she asked me if i wanted parking i said yes and she says it'll be 36 a night to park or you can park on the street but there is no street parking close by so you are forced into paying for it. Also it was a little confusing where the restaurant was located because it looked like a sitting area. We planned on eating there after a game we went to which ended around 930. We got back around 10 so we thought we had plenty of time to go to the restaurant since it says on the website they were open till 1130. But when we got back i asked the bartender where the restaurant was he said it's right here i said oh OK. He proceeded to tell me the restaurant was closed but the bar was open. I said closed? It says on your website it was open till 1130. He says no the kitchen closes at 10 the bar is open till 1130 which i wasnt happy about. Then we went up to our room and the TV is dry up at the side of the bed so we had to watch TV with out heads turned to the left the whole time which was very uncomfortable. So the next morning i got up took a shower and proceeded to put my makeup on but when i went to do it there was no magnifying mirror which most hotels have. I was disappointed because the hotel is nice on the outside but i figured i would get more out of it then we did considering how big the company is but i guess not anymore!

First of all the nightly rate was reasonable, it was better than i expected, and it was close to our purpose there (Scripps Hospital). The hotel was nice inside & out, our room had a balcony/ corner views (we were give an upgrade) & were very pleased with our stay.

I chose the Marriott for the convenience to Scripps Hospital (birth of our 1st grandson). We were upgraded for signing up with Marriott Bonvoy, with a corner king room with a balcony - very nice touch! The hotel was clean, all staff were pleasant, professional & attentive.

It’s got nothing to do with the property and everything to do with the staff could not find anybody to help me get ice or find the ice could not get downstairs after calling for many of times called every number they had not one time. Did I get a response when I checked out told the lady at the front desk she did not care I left a cup in there. It took them over 15 minutes. They still hadn’t got it. I had to leave my cup to catch a Flight, not happy at all

The hotel was walkable to the doctor's office at UCSD Health Clinic. It was 1 mile with smooth sidewalks and traffic lights. Other people were walking so it felt safe. The staff was friendly. We checked in the night before by email, and received a text when the room was ready. Everything went smoothly and we will be back again.

I found compared with other hotels this property can use some renovations. Rooms seemed small but carpet and decor looked old. They also charged for wifi that should be free. In the 13 day trip did not pay for wifi at any of the hotels we stayed at.
