This was our 4th stay at the westgate and it has been consistently nice. The rooms are quiet with comfortable bedding. I do wish room service stayed open a little later as our flight had been delayed and by the time we got there, the kitchen had closed 10 minutes ago. Breakfast is always good. Gabriel took care of us all three mornings and was an amazing personality to have at the hotel. He remembered things we had told him, gave suggestions, and clearly cared about us-after the three days, he felt like family!!! Thanks Gabriel-we will be back this summer for another weekend getaway and will come see you for sure! Thanks Westgate, until next time!!

Staff was fantastic, everyone we spoke to was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Spa and pool area were amazing, with a really impressive gym setup. My girls were so excited about how "fancy" everything was, it was super fun to see their reaction to everything. The hotel has a little visible age, but everything was in great working order and was fun to explore. Also, the shower in our room had the best water pressure I have ever had in my life!

Some staff members - those in n lobby especially went beyond the call of being helpful!👏 However, a waiter in the dining room on floor two could use training in checking back to tables, and alerting when there is a 30 minute wait between placing the order and having it delivered and delivered only because we went into the kitchen and asked what was going on. The order was so delicious we ALMOST forgave his lack of care. I the bottom line I look forward to returning to the hotel again.

Omar at the front desk really kicked off our stay for our anniversary, the valet guys (especially Al & Fernando) were complete class acts, and George was a wonderful bartender. The staff was even more impressive than the luxurious decor…like “go down playing their instruments on the Titanic” impressive. We’ll gladly come back! Pro tip…just pay to park in the hotel’s valet and save yourself the headache.

We have stayed here a few times over the years. It is still a cute hotel with old world elegance. We only were there to sleep because we checked in so late but we would definitely return if we ever need to return to San Diego. Parking was very convenient and felt secure.

Stayed here for a short weekend staycation… best part is you can stream apps from your phone to the TV. Internet speed was good we didn’t have any issues. Everything was clean and efficient. Friendly staff.

This is a beautiful hotel. The carpeting window coverings bathrooms, furniture and art are all beautiful. The people are very friendly here. It really is a high class hotel. My only concern is that it resides in an area that is safe by day, but not particularly safe by night. On one side of the hotel, it’s absolutely beautiful with nice shops and restaurants, but on the other side is a Haven for homeless people and not safe to walk there.

The Westgate is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s old it’s not shiny and new but I love that about it . If you want to stay in a glass and steel, modern hotel, those are available if you want to feel as if you are staying in an old historical palace this is the place for you

I was disappointed that there was no pool or hot tub available during our stay as this was one of the reasons for picking it. Also the parking per day was very steep at $50 a day.

Beauty hotel with a French flair. The decorative wood molding,crystal chandeliers and French style furniture give the hotel a warm feel. The food is also very good and the staff is very welcoming.

Solid Hotel Choice, just a few small gripes
Beautiful, clean hotel in an awesome location for my weekend staycation. I only had a couple not great experiences- my bathtub backed up and gurgled a bunch of hairballs out during my stay. But, after a quick call to the front desk, the engineer was there in 10 minutes or so for a quick fix. Also, the parking situation is not great so plan on budgeting a hefty chunk of change to park in their Valet Only garage ($50/day). Street parking around the hotel is basically non-existent and the other parking garages around the area aren’t much cheaper. If you book on Hotels.com they charge an extra $30/day for an “access fee”. Also, complimentary coffee would be nice- even Motel 6 offers that! All said & done, it’s a nice hotel with comfy beds and easy access to a lot of good restaurants/bars, but you end up spending quite a bit more on top of your daily rate once you check out.
