This place is a YMCA built in 1924Posted Aug 31, 2015
Cons: You might consider air conditioning and a bathroom in the room.
Location: visit the firehouse only 1 block away that rolls 4 times a night.
I've had better accomodations in the drunk tank. The parking is $25 a night

Decent location to be close to the actionPosted Aug 30, 2015
It used to be an old YMCA, so there's a bit of nostalgia to it, but although the room are all separate, the showers and bathrooms are shared. At least the shower and bathroom facilities are all single user at one time. There is no air conditioning, so they have an overhead ceiling fan. You have to keep the windows up at night to get any cool air, go back and make it rather noisy, depending on what's happening outside of the building.

HORRIFYINGPosted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: One person was very helpful - he told the homeless man to leave me alone on the street and got a taxi for me.
Cons: The broken and dirty elevator, bigger beds, AC, cleanliness, nicer staff.
Location: Bar scene and near the train station.
Felt like I was in a jail cell. It was a twin bed for two people and the room was 5' x 5'. Not what I expected at all. The bathrooms are one per floor were terrifying, I went to a bar to use theirs and did not shower at all; I was too scared of catching a disease. The $55 for one night was not worth it, so I stayed up as late as i could (4am) to leave at 6am for my flight because I did not want to sleep in the room.

Never againPosted Aug 28, 2015
It wasn't what I expected to be. The front desk clerk was the best part of the hotel. Everything else isn't worth my time to complain about it.

It's a hostelPosted Aug 25, 2015
Advertised as a twin room sleeping two guests, yeah it was a single bed with one pillow, one towel, no toiletries. We unfortunately stayed on a Saturday night, so there was vomit in the toilets the Sunday morning. However the room was very clean, no dust and covers were clean.

YMCA/Hostel cloaked as a hotelPosted Aug 24, 2015
Cons: Accurate presentation of what this facility is.
Booked through Expedia...so shame on Expedia as well as the Hotel's website....this is a YMCA like hostel with small beds, no in room bathroom/water and no TV.No AC....window open...heard sirens and homeless people screaming through the night. Advertised restaurant is out of commission. Hidden parking charge is $25/night at the garage next door...to avoid this, I parked on the street and walked 4 blocks...careful not to interfere with street sweepers! A humbling and aggravating experience.

Worst hotel experiencePosted Aug 23, 2015
Creepy place. Condition of everything is worn outdated and broken. Elevators broken. Had to go up 4 flights of stairs and down with suitcase. No parking. $25 in garage next door. Room reeks of mildew. Bathrooms had mold and no vents so it also stinks. Staff limited English so couldn't understand any requests.

Great downtown location - very inexpensive.Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Location and Cost
Cons: The shower area could be updated. One of the two elevators was inoperable. Walked up/down 4 flights of stairs instead of waiting for the elevator.
Location: A lot of great eating establishments were close by and a 24 Hour Fitness Center was only about 5 blocks away so I could workout.
Since I was only going to be in the room for 7 - 9 hours (primarily for sleeping and taking a quick shower), it was a perfect fit based on the location and the price. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is not a hotel, it is false advertising.Posted Aug 18, 2015
No bathroom in the room, there are communal (dirty) bathrooms on each floor. There was urine in the hall way upon leaving the hotel. The rooms are closet size. No parking, you must park at the public parking lot nearby which is $25/day. However, it is in the heart of downtown so if you can deal with all of the above then you have a lovely spot in downtown. You cannot walk to the beach from the hotel though. However you can walk to waterfront piers.
