Quiet and close to the best of San Diego!Posted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: Close to everything we wanted to see and do during our short visit.
Cons: Not a thing
Location: Short drive to Cabrillo lighthouse, Seaport Village and Gaslight District, Old Town and Balboa Park.
We spent 2 nights at the Island Palms and had a great experience. Excellent views of the harbor and downtown skyline at night. Easy drive to all the major attractions too.

great room by the marinaPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: nice room, close to marina & pier...very clean
Cons: door by the jacuzzi and pool at the back by marina, should be fixed so it wouldn't keep making loud slamming sound everytime someone closes it.
Location: close to pier where there is a trail where people can walk, run and walk their dogs. lots of places to eat.
hotel staff Daniel, Kyle and Danny were all great, accomodating,,helpful and very proessional. we would definitely come back and highly reccomend the hotel to friends.

Great locationPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: The hotel staff was very pleasant and the maid service was excellent.
Cons: The service at the outside restaurant was very slow for lunch and it wasn't even busy.
Location: We stayed for the concert at Humphries and brought our bikes. We rode around Mission Bay and ferried to Coronado for a ride. Great location.
We have stayed on Shelter Island before, but this is our first at BW. We booked through expedia for a standard King suite; which had a full kitchen, stove top, etc. Called to confirm and they said yes. When we got there, it was not a full kitchen. The front desk was very gracious and showed us the 2 different rooms and gave us the suite at no additional charge. We could have checked in earlier, but had to wait for the larger suite. We were able to use the pool while waiting.

Great locationPosted Oct 3, 2015
Pros: Clean unit, well maintained and good courteous staff
Cons: Restaurant could do with more variety on the menu, and more family friendly. Slow service at times.
Location: Location with water on both sides was perfect, difficult to find good restaurants on the island without having to pay lots. Hotel pools were great
Wonderful vacation, great staff and clean units. Location was great and pools well maintained.

Great rooms on second floor overlooking the marinaPosted Oct 3, 2015
My family had a wonderful time in our suites which overlooked the marina. It was quiet and comfortable. The Shelter Island location is perfect because it is away from the city of San Diego noise yet close to many good restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very small room. Door hit the bed when opening.Posted Oct 2, 2015
Pros: Central location
Cons: Air Conditioning units, Room size
Location: Central location. Lots of restaurants and close to marina
This room was very small for a family of 4. the door hit the bed when we opened it. the 2nd bed had no room next to the wardrobe. Air conditioning unit was very loud and blowing on the bed as it was at floor level.

Great location, lovely staff, OK HotelPosted Oct 1, 2015
Pros: Location, amenities, staff, the suite
Cons: Suite -Nicer cutlery, better kitchen equipment, bigger wall safe, enough outside seating for room guests without having to ask, outside table too big
Location: Sea and marina right here, plenty of Navy ships, Helicopters if you like that, have to Drive into San Diego centre - Hotel next door hosts concerts
Booked a room for 2 adults (not marina side)- this was ground floor, off car park (noisy) and too small a room for 7 nights - bathroom was dirty, I complained and with no hesitation we were upgraded to a suite facing marina - Thank you. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Once in the suite the kitchen floor was still grubby and housekeeping came at once to clean this, no dishcloth or towel so were give handtowels and facecloth to do dishes. The suite had a lounge area, massive bathroom, kitchen area and bedroom, with balcony area from the living room. The wall safe is in the wardrobe and we really had to climb over one of the double bed to get into it(think rooms were designed for a king size bed), the safe is about 4/5 inches deep - didn't hold much. the seating area outside the room had a large table which was the width of the balcony area and only 2 seats (ok for us but as the room can hold 6 neighbours had to ask for more seats) there are no sharp knives provided we were told a toddler cut her finger so all were removed again you have to ask, cutlery was very cheap and small. We parked in hotel car park, but there is a free car park directly across the road (on the sea side) I would say you could have parked there every day of the 7 days we were there, but the hotel next door hosts concerts - there were two on during our stay, on those evenings unless you had parked early (from about 5pm) you would struggle to park in the free car park (or street)
