1/2" gap under the outside door, mice?Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: CLOSE to freeway. Stay in one of the back buildings facing away from the noise, it's fine there.
Old facility desperate need for new exterior paint, old looking interior furnishings. VERY OVERPOWERING smell of room "freshener" obviously to disguise something. Otherwise had a quiet stay even though the hotel was full by morning.

Very convinient with a carPosted Aug 21, 2015
The exterior was beautiful. The food served at the on site restaurant was delicious! I recommend the shrimp pesto pizza. Everything from the Zoo to Sea World to Old Town is within less than a 10 minute drive. The room was clean and great to stay in as a couple with a mini fridge, great tv, comfy bed, a sink area seperate from the bathroom that had the toilet and shower with a light/ fan.

family friendly hotel close to airport, shoppingPosted Aug 20, 2015
Cons: Hot water not to be plentiful for showers! lighting for pool area
In San Diego for family birthday. Room smaller than appeared in the photos. Room did accommodate our needs. Pool was great!!! I would however suggest some lighting around pool, it was very hard to see for the last couple of hours in the evening. Pool lights also were not working. We were in room 115 and the two steps leading up to our room should have some paint on end of steps as my husband and another person almost fell as they missed seeing that there was steps . We enjoyed breakfast on the patio and poolside! Great food and service and thought the prices were comparable to other places.

Clean friendly hotel good central locationPosted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness, laundry facilities, good restaurant, pool.
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: Easy to find local attractions
Have stayed in this hotel many years ago and was pleased that it had not changed. It offers very clean rooms, although air conditioning could be better as we happened to stay when temp was unseasonally hot. Cafe restaurant serves a wide variety of foods at reasonable prices. Hotel has guest laundry services which is great for families. Situated on Hotel Circle, Old Town, Embarcadero and shopping is all within easy reach.

Pros: Location is great for meeting held in the Mission Valley Convention Center... walking distance. No charge for parking. Restaurant on site.
Cons: Sheets were scratchy and could be updated. Difficult to find the actual building your room is in at night.
Location: Shopping at Fashion Valley, an upscale mall. Shuttles to take you to local attractions.
Standard hotel. Clean, good location. Had trouble finding the actual building at night, even with the map.

Beautiful AmbiancePosted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: The gardens.
Cons: The rooms could use some updating.
Location: The location is excellent with easy freeway access to all the sites located in the San Diego area.
I very much enjoyed my stay at this Best Western Hotel. What sets this facility apart from the surrounding properties is the spectacular landscaping. The tropical plants creates a very pleasing atmosphere and peacefulness that I found very attractive. This is a relatively dated hotel, but the overall ambiance makes it unique among it's competitors in this price range. It is a low rise building with comfortable rooms and a restful surrounding.
