Ocean view and pillows

Posted Mar 23, 2017
Pros: Close to beach, room coffee-maker worked.
Cons: Clear advertising (beach front, vs. beach view). More pillows. Free parking. Replace corroded bath mirror frames. Free bike rental included w/room
We thought we had reserved an ocean-front room, but it turned out to be merely ocean-view, and you had to go out on the balcony to get that view. Very disappointing. They said for an additional $60, they had an ocean-front view, but the room was already expensive. And there were not enough pillows, so we had to improvise by rolling an extra blanket and putting it across the bed at the pillow-end, but that was still uncomfortable. Walls were a bit thin, noisy in the morning. Other than that, the staff was fine, or at least average, and the location was fine, although it was not as close to Belmont Park as we'd hoped. Parking was good, but they charged extra; at the rate for the rooms, parking should have been included. We probably would not stay here again; there were many beach rentals available along the mile-long walk to Belmont Park, and we'd probably try one of those next time.

Beachfront hotel

Posted Mar 23, 2017
Pros: Staff and beach views.
Cons: Noise level?? I would recommend this hotel if you are easy going and want to stay on the beach.
Location: This hotel is about 20 minutes from SDSU which is why we were there. I was looking for the closest beach to the school.
This is an older property that has been renovated, they have done a nice job with renovations, but it still felt old. I read reviews and upgraded to ocean front, which was beautiful. The sliding glass door was extremely difficult to open because of sand in track I guess. We were there on St. Patricks day, definitely lots of partying in the hotel, and on the beach right in front of our room. We were on second floor and heard partying, load music and yelling till the wee hours of morning. One night there was a crying baby in the room next door. Not anyways "fault" but the walls were very thing so we felt like we were in the same room. Party on the other side. The pool and hot tub we didn't use but looked very nice and protected from the wind off the beach. Hotel staff Super friendly and accommodating, we didn't complain about noise because I kinda felt like that was just the vibe of the hotel location.

Right on Ocean walk and beach pool is nice.

Second story rom. Nice balcony. Slept with sliding door open with great ocean "sounds" . Rental deco-bike rack in parking lot is handy. +/-$40 cab ride to convention center.

Great Location

Posted Mar 19, 2017
We booked two rooms for 5 days.Oceanfront and a side room. The side room also had a nice view of the beach too. Checked in late...front desk staff was very efficient and friendly. The beds were really comfortable. The location was great...lots of restaurants and shops close by. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the evening. Great fun watching the skaters!

Good location, bland hotel

Posted Mar 18, 2017
Pros: Proximity to the beach, shower pressure
Cons: Freshen/brighten up the room
Location: Next to the boardwalk/beach, lots of shops and restaurants nearby
After staying here, I was surprised at the high rating. The location was great, but otherwise it seemed a little rundown and drab.

Nice hotel close to the beach!

Pleasantly surprised at how modern and clean everything was! Staff at front desk was amazing most days. Right on the beach, walking distance to restaurants, bars, etc. Great people watching spot.

Pros: location on Pacific Beach
Cons: Room door key lock was jammed, should replace on Room #113. Shower door leaked like crazy in Room #222.
Location: right on beach, so access to surf was great. Plenty of places nearby to eat, drink, and pass the time. All sites to see, especially Sea World.
A little noisy near the poolside, or the ocean front, and from upper floor guests above our room. You have to plan when you are wanting to use the pool, firepit, or spa, by putting personal items on chairs, ie towels etc. No morning breakfast, but there is plenty of eating options down the boardwalk, or near the hotel. Expect delay on check in time is 4:00 pm, but we had to wait longer. Great location for watching surfers, and people.
