Great location, near the airport and marina

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Nothing fancy, price was under 200$, perfect for walking to the Point Loma Marina and nearby restaurants. It was a 5-10 min easy drive to the airport. Staff were nice and some underground parking available. The room was comfortable, recently renovated, included small fridge and microwave. I must say the only negative was a party of rude guests who stayed out late partying into the wee hours and just happened to be right next to my room. Oh, and there really isn't breakfast, coffee and small bite of strudel. I would stay again.

Clean, affordable, & great for livelier tourists.

Posted Aug 19, 2016
Pros: N/A. Checked in, then checked out about 5 minutes later.
Cons: Nothing. It's an old hotel on a busy street. Could use a little renovation, but that might not be cost effective. Parking lot is hard to get in/out of
Location: In the heart of Point Loma, CA. Close to Airport, Beaches, Sea World, and etc. Great location, but just wasn't right for me when I came to stay there.
There was a live band, playing after 10pm. So loud it sounded like it was performing on the third floor of the hotel. Didn't like seeing a dark comforter on the bed...makes people think the bedding isn't clean because maybe it doesn't get washed often (dirt doesn't show right away). Got my deposit refunded, but not the 3 night fee (even though I didn't stay there). Was told that because I booked through expedia that I couldn't be refunded. Not mad at the night manager though, he was very kind, understanding, and patient with me as I was clearly tired and upset about the music.

Good for the price and location

Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very basic but very clean, quiet and bug free. A short walk to several restaurants, bars, stores and the water. I would stay here again.

Inexpensive, updated rooms.

Posted Aug 1, 2016
The photos and description are so misleading that when I booked a 4 night visit I didn't realize this was a motel I'd spent a night at once before ( and never planned to stay there again). As I was driving there I started realizing oh no, this is that place! But... The actual rooms really are not bad at all. My days were packed full of fun things to do while in SD so all I did was sleep and shower there. For that, it was totally fine. The thing that makes it feel like such a dive is really the lobby area which needs updating and the awful smell in the lobby because the owners are Indian and there's a very strong unpleasant curry smell or something. they were pleasant people though. Also the one other bad thing was the bed spread that was soiled with stains. Gross. I dumped it on the floor immediately and just used the cheats the entire time. That bedspread was a terrible initial impression, if I had a nice clean newer bedspread it would've made all the difference in the world. The parking garage area is ridiculous. The spots are so tiny and so close together that even though I was being so careful I actually scraped up my rental car on a wood post, trying not to hit another car that was parked. So even though I don't like parking on the street, that is always your best bet there. I will spend money on a nice hotel for our anniversary trip, but if you want to spend money on having fun instead of a fancy hotel, stay here because it's inexpensive.

Durchschnittliches amerikanisches Hotel

Posted Jul 31, 2016
Pros: Die gut Lage und Nähe zur Old Town San Diego (Buslinie 28, Haltestelle nahe dem Hotel)
Location: San Diego nahe Shelter Island. Mit Bus 28 zur Old Town San Diego fahren. Hop on - Hop off Trolley Tour starten.
Wir hatten zwei Nächte auf unser Westtour durch die USA gebucht. Die Old Town ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um mit dem Hop on - Hop off Trolley San Diego zu erkunden.

Nice hotel, not too far from downtown

Posted Jul 28, 2016
Pros: Clean modern rooms, friendly and available staff, decently close to downtown.
Cons: Navigating parking can be a challenge for larger cars, but not sure if that can be improved much.
Location: Nice restaurants within walkable 2-3 block radius, downtown/convention center ~15 minutes away by car with traffic along Harbor Blvd.
Saw the 2-star rating so wasn't sure about the place; but once we checked in trepidation went away completely. Owners and staff are very friendly, helpful in every way, and have made some key investments in the facilities: hotel is solar powered, free wi-fi, complimentary fruit and water bottles in the rooms, nice breakfast provided in the mornings (juice, coffee, fruit, some pastries). Most important to us were the rooms themselves: modern, very clean, great air conditioning, and overall completely relaxing and comfortable. Underground parking available (albeit a bit cramped for larger vehicles). Nice restaurants within walkable 2-3 block radius, downtown/convention center ~15 minutes away by car with traffic along Harbor Blvd. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice Place to Stay

Posted Jul 17, 2016
Pros: The room was newly refinished. There is parking in the basement below the hotel--the spots are small but OK.
Cons: A faster internet is needed.
The room is very clean. Everything during our stay was pleasant. The only reason my final rating was 4 instead of 5 was because the internet is a bit slow and the danish breakfast was marginal (coffee and one choice of danish). Other than these two item, I recommend staying at the Cabrillo Inn.
