The outside appearance was rundown. But, the unit was okay.

It serves its purpose but

I've never seen such a tiny room with 2 queen beds, we were very, very cramped. Breakfast was right in the "lobby", although, I'd hesitate to call it a breakfast. Don't expect it to provide the fuel needed for a busy morning or any morning... The coffee was colored water. There is zero landscaping with the pool across the parking lot, it's a very strange setup. It is a great location for Legoland and the beach. Also, most staff was kind and friendly. The bed and pillows were clean and pretty comfortable. I was not pleased when my freshly bathed child had black feet from walking on the carpet.

Adequate Place

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: The key benefit of this hotel is location. It's right off I-5, though we never heard freeway noise and it's a very easy ten minute walk to the beach.
Cons: The stairwells need lighting, smoke detectors need to be fixed, and the rooms need more racks for hanging wet items.
Location: The beach is very close. There are also several fast food locations across the street. Very easy access to I-5 to go anywhere.
We requested and got a third (top) floor room to avoid noise. It was quiet and we slept well each night. I did not feel safe the first night, though. We checked in late at night and had to complete the check-in process through a Plexiglass window, then walk up a very dark stairwell to the room. The room was small with almost no place to hang things like towels and bathing suits. Where the smoke alarm should have been, there were only loose wires hanging down. Only two stations came in on the television: MTV and CNN. The refrigerator was large but didn't do much to keep things cool or cold. The pool looked very nice, but we didn't find time to use it. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Overall, the property is clean and tidy, but with enough things on the questionable side to make you wish you had spent more for a nicer place.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We do lock the lobby at 11 PM for our safety. I am glad our staff was friendly and we will make sure to check every room for the fire alarms. We are currently in the process of upgrading the cable and our televisions. We hope we get the chance to see you again.

Pay for the location, but that's about it.

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Size and cleanliness.
Location: A few minutes away from both the freeway and the beach!
I was extremely disappointing when I booked this hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights early August. I payed less for a motel that was larger and more comfortable a few days prior. I booked a one bed, non smoking room but I did not expect the room to be that small. It was the size of a mediocre room with a table, small fridge, and TV. During the first night, we encountered a cockroach on the wall. I felt uncomfortable the entire stay. I believe with this hotel, you pay for the location, but not much else.

Stayed here with my little family

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: Our room was very clean, and the crib( which is a play pen) was SO convenient. Beds and pillows very comfy! water temp great!
Cons: Rugs are VERY dirty my kids socks were black
Location: 15Min to LegoLand 30min to San Diego Zoo Location is perfect, 7min to Target which is VERY convenient when traveling with little ones.
Room smelled clean and fresh when we got there. It was very clean, except for the rug. I was VERY nervous traveling with our two kids 1and 6. I spoke to Maria before arriving and she got us a room away for the freeway, so it was nice and quite, room 236. Gordon at the front desk was very nice and accomadating.

Clean & Comfortable

Posted Aug 8, 2015
This hotel was reasonably priced for the location. If you are looking for a clean and comfortable room to sleep in, this hotel was great. If you are looking for a resort to relax and spend your day then this is probably not the spot. The pool is small and in the parking area. The free breakfast is minimal.

Slightly Sketchy

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: The front desk folks were excellent.
Location: Blocks from Moonlight Beach and the many restaurants and cafes of Encinitas.
Although the hotel is conveniently located, it is not very pleasant. The rooms are okay, but the lighting is poor, and I wouldn't want any single women or elderly folks to deal with the dark staircases and hallways. The soda machine and overhead lights did not work, and the TV quality was poor. Someone pulled the fire alarm on our last night, rousing us from a sound sleep. Nearby parking was hard to find at times.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We will make sure to check all of the lighting and replace any light bulbs that are out. We are currently in the process of upgrading our cable which will help with the quality. As for the fire alarm, I am sorry that it was pulled. We did have the fire department come and make sure everything was OK. I hope that we will get the chance to see you again in the future.
