Noisy room

Pros: Very clean, good location and pleasant staff.
Cons: Not really except for the noisy room/s in the back of the property.
Location: Easy walk to the marina and restaurants. A long walk will even take you down to a really nice beach.
The room I was given was at the back of the property right next to the busy main road and the train station. I couldn't sleep because the Metrolink train came through about every 20-30 minutes and the main road that led to the marina has constant heavy traffic all night long. The road was about 100 feet from my window and the train was about 50 feet away. Too close for comfort.

DO NOT STAY HERE EVER

Pros: NOTHING-rude staff, hot rooms, dirty carpet
Cons: EVERYTHING
Location: Don't waste your time here.
The staff is not friendly and the rooms are dirty. When we arrived at 6 pm the room was HOT and the air was off. The knob on the air unit did not work and just spun around. When we asked for a new room we were told none were available. We were then told that the hotel was not required to provide air conditioning by a very rude front desk person. We could not find another room on such short notice so decided to stick it out for the night. By morning the room had cooled off (the unit must have worked but very weakly and the windows open). We left for the day and when we returned at 3 pm the housekeeping staff had turned off the air so the room was again HOT. When we asked the staff why they turned off the air they said they did not. When we complained to management they stated they were required by the local electric company to turn the air off - which is a huge lie. If that is your policy fine, but state the policy - don't lie. No other hotel does that. In addition, the carpet had not been vacuumed, there were hair pins and sequins on the floor from the previous occupants. We left the room that day but the management would not refund the night. Save yourself the hassle and don't bother with this place. We moved to the Best Western and they did not turn off the air there! Also it was clean at the BW.

"You get what you pay for." Not true in this case. Not a bad hotel, just not worth the $217 a night. Would've liked a better breakfast. Room was clean. I think there were people staying there longer than a vacation.

Pillows and batteries

The pillows were too big. I couldn't use them and my boyfriend got a severe nechache. I think the batteries in the remote need to be replaced. Overall I loved my stay and didn't want to leave. Thank you!

Pleasant stay. Close to beach/harbor.

Pros: Location - cleanliness.
Cons: Better breakfast selection.
Location: Can walk to beach/harbor. Short drive to downtown and pier.
I wanted to book a reasonably priced hotel since we were staying three nights. I was very pleased with the location of this hotel. It was within walking distance of the harbor and beach - lots of shops and restaurants down there - a place to buy beer or liquor, and a couple of restaurants. It's also located right off I-5 so was easy to get to. Downtown Oceanside is a five-minute drive. Close to Camp Pendleton - the gate is practically within walking distance and a very short 10-15 minute drive to get to the actual base area. Breakfast was offered, and is a typical 'continental' breakfast - no hot food - but great for a quick cup of coffee or grabbing a muffin before starting your day. There's also a pool if you don't want to go to the beach. Room was very clean, and hotel staff very accommodating. The only problem with our room was that it felt very humid, even with the air conditioning running, and the outside lights were very bright, making it feel like day time even with the curtain closed. Good for families.

Pros: Great location, friendly staff.
Cons: The breakfast bar was just some fruit and bread, muffins, so we ended up eating out for breakfast.
Location: Very short drive to the harbor area and beach, with lots of free parking.
All in all a very good experience. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Close to Camp Pendleton

The room was decent. My only complaint is the proximity of the train tracks. Amtrak runs several times a day. Great staff! Pool is inviting.

We have 1 adults and 3 kids but the hotel charged extra money. We were not happy about it. They should charge for the number of adults.
