No air conditioning, stifling hot, miserable, could not sleep at night and the fans did not help, dead bugs in the bathtub, missing screens in our windows so we could not leave the windows open, plus window locks did not work either...continental breakfast was a jug od tropicana on the counter, not on ice, coffee and a danish. Yes it is close to the beach...but not worth it.

Great Location-Not Great PropertyPosted Aug 26, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed here two years ago and this is why we returned this year. We will not be staying in the future and here is why: A night lock on the front door was broken and not replaced. Two out of the four windows in our suite had no screen, One screen had an "L" cut in the center, one window wouldn't lock (all of this doesn't lead to feeling secure) and one window had no tension in it so if you opened it it would slam shut (which it did on my hand causing damage to two fingers). If you like flat pillows and sandpaper towels, this place is for you. We also had bulbs out in the kitchen. I don't think this property knows the word update.

We didn't realize the hotel did not have air conditioning when we booked it, only a ceiling fan. It was over 80 degrees in the room when we checked in. The manager brought another fan. Still did not bring comfort level down where air conditioning would have.

It was a beautiful view from our room. Hotel staff very accommodating. Would have appreciated air conditioning in our room. Overall it was good.

Great location right at the beach. No AC and no free wifi was a down for us. Rooms has a small kitchen kind of nice but one of the stove tops wasn't working. Also after cleaning our room they didn't leave us any towels. Location is great, walking distance to bars and restaurants.

Diamond Head InnPosted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: Nothing. The room was poorly lighted, no air conditioning, furnishings were dilapidated.
Cons: There were only 5 parking spaces reserved for hotel guests. We were fortunate to be able to get one of the spaces on just two of the five nights
Location: There are numerous restaurants in walking distance. The beach is large and fairly clean. Sea World is nearby.
We reserved the room through Expedia two months prior to our arrival. Payment was made in full at the time of the reservation. The Expedia confirmation stipulated "Non Refundable-Cannot be Cancelled". When we arrived for check in the hotel proprietor informed us that the reservation HAD BEEN CANCELLED and he said that Expedia had sent the cancellation to the hotel's system. He printed a cancellation notice that said that I had cancelled 5 days prior to check in. In fact I had not cancelled the reservation. I had paid for 5 nights in advance, so I certainly did not want to forfeit that money. The proprietor was just shrugging his shoulders and offered no other help except that he gave me a customer service number for Expedia. I called Expedia from the hotel lobby and the gentleman I spoke with at Expedia could find no evidence that the reservation had been cancelled. He spoke with the proprietor. After much negotiation and I suppose the proprietor was realizing that my wife and I were upset and were not about to give up easily, he finally assigned us to a room which he said we could have for one night. That wasn't going to be good enough and we persevered until he finally confirmed us for all 5 nights. Upon showing us to the room I asked him to stay while I looked around. I found that the toilet seat was broken and that the sheets on the pullout bed had apparently not been changed. The handyman fixed the toilet. The proprietor handed me a new sheet to change myself.

Beach friendly location, disappointing stay!Posted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: Close to beach
Cons: They could make the room descriptions accurate, actually stock the kitchen as we only had 1 spoon, no paper towels or napkins, not even a dish towel!
Location: Be alert as there are a lot of homeless people in the area; however, the location itself it very close to beach, food, bars, shops, etc.
We chose this hotel based on the fact that it was on the beach and was large enough for our family of 6. The room description stated it was a 2 room suite with 2 queen beds, a kitchenette fully stocked for your cooking needs, and a bathroom. To start our trip off, I was greeted by a less than friendly staff member who barely spoke to me. I was asking questions about where we could park and verifying the fact that it had 2 rooms and he "shushed me" and said he'd explain it at the end. There is NO reserved parking for this hotel, so be prepared to find any open parking spot within a few blocks radius that you can park overnight as they do street sweeping on certain days! We got to our room and it was 1 bedroom, with 1 queen bed, a living room and kitchenette. I went back and asked the gentleman at the desk about the 2nd room and he said the living room was our second room - the couch pulls out to a queen bed. That is not what the description stated! We decided to venture out and make the best of it and when we returned to our hotel, we went to get the kids ready for bed and realized there were no pillows or blankets for the pull out sofa. I called the front desk and nobody answered (it was a little after 10 PM). I tried calling a couple of times and still no answer, so I walked downstairs to find the office locked. We ended up having to use our beach towels for pillows and sheets were our only covers. Luckily it was humid and warm, so that wasn't a huge issue.

The hotel was very dirty. The rollaway bed for our four-year-old had broken springs and felt and unsafe, The staff upon leaving did not know how to print a receipt and had to go to a different hotel to print the receipt there. It was very close to the beach which was excellent. But there was no real resort parking and we were told to park at a different resort even though my husband is disabled because and they only have five parking places. They did allow us to park at the resort at the handicapped spot because I explained that he cannot walk two blocks with bags being disabled,
