Pros: the pool
Cons: evrything
Toilet was plugged up when I flushed the water spilled all over. The bathtub water handle was broken I called the front desk twicew

This place is a REAL Hovel!!!!!!

Pros: Absolutely NOTHING.
Cons: I am disappointed in AARP and Expedia for even listing this motel as an option. It should be removed from your choices of places to stay.
Location: The location is in a bad area behind a Taco Shop with which it shares an entrance. Very few dining options except taco shop.
Our mother passed away right before Labor Day weekend. We needed a place to stay near La Mesa. Everything was booked except this place. Now I know why. It had a depressing lobby, with dead potted plants. Our feet stuck to dirty, sticky exterior stairways and walkways. There were cigarette butts in potted plants and other landscaping. The "Laundry Room" consisted of a broken washer and a dryer in a hallway. Dangerous open-backed concrete stairways (no elevator) were difficult to navigate while carrying luggage. There were sketchy people (hanging around on stairways and hallways smoking and on cellphones (transacting business?). I got the impression that these people were at least part-time residents of the motel. Our "suite" consisted of a standard room with stained and torn sofa bed and a king size bed. There were holes in lampshades and drapes. The hair dryer handle was all sticky with some disgusting substance. Towels (new ones) were always smokey. (We were in a non-smoking room). We had to wash everything, clean clothes included when we returned home because the smokey smell got into everything.

I wish you had brought your concerns to us during your stay so we could have addressed them. As far as the other comments regarding cleanliness, we are happy to report that on our last quality inspection we earned a 95% cleanliness score. Quiet comfortable place hidden behind a Carwash and Taco Shop........a bit dated but fine for a night.

Great location

The staff was very friendly, the room was immaculate, a little run down on the outside, but I would definitely stay there again!

Run down hotel in a scary location

The room smelled like an old bar. There was hair (yes, human hair) imbedded in the chairs and couches. Blankets smelled smokey. There were prostitutes working the area in large numbers. Also witnessed what appeared to be a drug deal by the pool. The front desk people were nice. I feel bad for them having to work there. I slept on top of the blankets on my coat. Not a good place.

Stayed for 3 nights only got maid service once. Had a non-smoking room, however the room smelled like smoke.

Terrible hotel practice

Hotel ran my credit card prior to check in and it declined. I was going to use different card upon arrival but they had cancelled my room.

Dear Guest, When a guest books a room and provides a credit card to guarantee the reservation. The hotel hold to room in good faith, however if the card is declined the hotel is not obligated to hold the room. Prior to canceling the reservation we try our best to get a hold of the guest to acquire a new card. Our experience shows that many guest with declined credit cards does not show up. If the hotel holds these rooms, they lose revenue for the day the guest with declined credit cards has nothing to loose. I suggest next time you provide a good credit card in good faith to have your room held. Sincerely Chetan Patel

Good hotel for the price

It is right off the freeway and the cost was low. When we first pulled up to the hotel we were thinking great it's going to be a dive however, The room itself was clean and comfortable. The downside was that it wasn't in a location where I felt safe walking out to my car alone at night. Once we were in the room we stayed there. The fact that the hotel lobby was locked and you had to check in through a window was a pretty good tip that it wasn't a completely safe neighborhood.

University satisfy

I won't Recommend this hotel to any body, sink wasn't draining the water correctly, pillows are too old the mattress was uncomfortable and very old style, pool very dirty. The inly good thing is the location and the cleaning pepole was good. Just wasted my money.
