Only if you have nowhere else to stay

This is an old hotel. All rooms r smoking, despite advertised special as non-smoking. Free BF is coffee & a pastry. Free Wifi & Parking a +. Front Desk & Houskeeping staff were fine. Cigarette burns in furniture & bedspread. Bed comfy w/ clean sheets. Bathroom needs patching up & painting. AC noisy but needed to circulate old cigarette odors. Would not stay here again, esp w/ my son w/ me...great price but not worth it

Nice little hotel where you can get a good night sleep without too much fuss. Sure, this isn't the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed in, but for the hotel class, it fits the bill. Room was clean and quiet. Beds are comfortable--which is especially important to note because I've sometimes slept in some really lumpy beds in other hotels in the same cost/class. Really close to the San Diego zoo, so that's a plus. Easy access to the freeway so you can get to other things too. Only a 30 minute drive from the Sleep Train Amphitheater. A grocery store is next door, so hotel snacks aren't too far away. Plus this place as a proper fridge with dedicated freezer in the room (mini size). Most mini fridges just have that shelf that is supposedly a freezer...the one in my room was the real deal. Only issue I ran into was the lack of parking. Upon returning from a concert in Chula Vista, there were literally no parking spots in the lot. Thankfully the front desk was able to sort it out...but it seems like there are enough parking spots for each room...so maybe they need to have a 1 car per room policy?

Nice hotel for the room rate

Pros: The convenience, and the rate that I got the room for.
Cons: The flat screen TV was nice, but the remote control was a little contentious, (wouldn't respond when I would push a button).
Location: The location was pretty central for my visit. I have family that lives in La Mesa, so that was just a short drive away, and 8W was close by.
The front desk was pleasant and professional. The hotel grounds are kept clean, the room was clean and up to date. The bed was comfortable, parking was good, pretty quiet for the location. The location makes it easy to get where I needed to go. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and would stay here again.

Pros: The staff and price. Location worked for our needs.
Cons: The TV and the vent in the restroom.
Location: Nice the nicest of neighborhoods but there are lots of food and grocery options nearby. Also, easy access to the 94 freeway
The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was clean. Our TV had a green line through the display and the vent in the restroom was hanging off the ceiling. The air conditioning worked great. The area surrounding this hotel isn't the nicest, kind of a slum. The price was very good. Great access to the 94 freeway. There are a lot of fast food options nearby. Vending machines in the parking lot with soda and ice cream. Although the ad stated full breakfast, it was only continental breakfast. Parking was good. Wifi was sufficient to do some remote work.

Staff not at all accommodating with requests. Greedy with simple basic requests. Weary of surroundings.

Pros: Great beds, great room rate, everything mechanical and/or electronic worked well. (Unlike the room I stayed in in Phoenix the night before.)
Cons: Lot security or at least a manager walkabout during the night to eject miscreants or advise other guests to be civilized.
Location: Location was fine, close to everything I needed
The property was far from fancy but still quite nice. For the rate I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. The only thing that tainted the experience was a loony gentleman walking around the parking lot waving his arms and talking out loud to himself. The management didn't seem concerned enough to ask him to move on. Also, there was a male standing right outside my door on the balcony talking loudly on a cell phone from midnight until 2:00am. Kind of hard to sleep with someone yelling on the phone right outside your door.

Fantastic stay

Room was very clean and the service was amazing. Employees very polite and professional. They were also extremely helpful with directions and accomadations. Will definitely Use this hotel again
