It's a great hotel in an amazing location

Hotel and staff are amazing. From Gustavo making a great Latte in the morning to the valet and everything in between, it was a wonderful experience.

Nicew hotel close to the beach

Pros: Beautiful ocean view
Cons: Nothing special
Location: Many interesting places to go(beaches, nice restaurants etc.)
I stayed at this hotel five times with my family. I like the location close to the beach and ocean view room. We cloud see beautiful sunset every time.

Not what I have expected from a 4 star hotel

Stayed here for 6 nights during spring break . I didn't find this to be a 4 star hotel by any stretch . The room we stayed in is quite spacious . This is first hotel we stayed at without a fridge ! I had to ask the front desk to set one up . If I were to rate the bathroom alone it would be 1-star! It needs a makeover desperately . Slow drinage at the sink really bothered me. Had to remove the cap for the water to go down which revealed how dirty the pipe was . The shower height was way too low , I'm about 5' 10 and literally had to bend my neck for the water to reach me . The ceiling had yellow , greasy marks all over . There was only 1 tower when we checked in late Saturday night. The dirty tiles needed to be ripped out. I should have taken some pictures. I think the front desk could be more friendlier . I didn't find them engaging upon checking in and out . Yes we didn't stay at one of more expensive suite or the ones with ocean view . Location is what we paid for , and really we couldn't find anything else positive to say during our stay .

Old classic in the heart of La Jolla

Pros: location
Cons: pillows were not very comfortable
We checked in late Friday night and got a room on the lobby level. While we did not reserve an ocean view room, we actually had a modest blue water view.

Gem of a hotel in a perfect location

We booked this hotel at the last minute for an unscheduled night in LaJolla. It was perfect all around. Great location, helpful and courteous staff, large, comfortable and clean room, beautiful common areas. We could not have hoped for more.

No car needed you are in walking destance to every where you would want to be. A wonderful place to stay. 100 year old history.

Great location!

Pros: Location and its boutique charm
Cons: The bed was a bit too stiff for my tastes but didnt affect my stay
Location: The cove, some fantastic restaurants like Richard Walkers, and Dukes.
Very clean and staff were very accomodating. Grounds are beautiful and location is up the street from the cove. Great place to stay we will be back again.

Enjoyed my stay here. La Jolla is so very pretty and worth visiting. Hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to beach, seals and great shops and restaurants. Hotel itself is very tastefully decorated, well maintained and restaurant served great breakfasts. Would recommend it.
