Very nice, hotel near many shops and restaurants.

Very pleased with this hotel choice in La Jolla. Service and hotel accommodations are impeccable. Room not available when we came around noon as check in is at 4pm. Front desk text at 3:30 and pleasantly surprised by the nice upgrade. Comfortable studio suite in the Little Hotel by The Sea. Full kitchen, electric fireplace and partial ocean view. Would definitely stay there again!

Gorgeous hotel

Pros: the room was classy, comfortable and spacious
Cons: Nothing about our stay could be improved, it was perfect!

Pros: The room and the location to both the town, and more importantly to the amazing coastal walk.
Cons: The air conditioner could have been a little bit quieter.
Location: Lots of shops, art galleries, restaurants and ice cream and gelato places. Amazing coastal walk with seals on the beaches, pelicans and sea birds.

Close to the beach, and lots of restaurants

Pros: Very nice old California style and look, and tastefully upgraded and remodeled.
Great service and attention to detail. The staff is terrific and super friendly. The hotel was extremely accommodating when we wanted to stay an extra might and gave us a beautiful upgraded room for the same price as the nights prior. Very happy. Second time we stay here and we will definitely be back. The hotel is very centrally located in La Jolla and walking distance to almost anything you might want to do i.e. shop, restaurants, beach, ocean walks, running!

Pros: Location and Concierge staff
Cons: They need new mattresses
Location: It is the center of everything in La Jolla
It is great hotel to stay in La Jolla. It is the center of everything and is easily accessible.

We actually just replaced all of the mattresses in our 93 guest rooms and suites earlier this year. I'm sorry that they were not to your liking. Good but over priced

Pros: Location and not a hotel overrun with children.
Cons: Have a business center and charge less for extras. A feeling of grandeur is not created by cost it is done through service and ambience.
Location: Great location in La Jolla. Plenty of good dining places. Relatively easy to get to other places from. Not a family holiday location.
Great location and room had a view of the sea. However access for handicapped people is poor, everything is an extra and no business center.

Needs a facelift....

Pros: It was a good location in La Jolla
Cons: They need to invest $$$$$$$$$ into this property
Location: We were also disappointed in La Jolla so we only stayed for breakfast which was at The Cottage which was excellent!!!
The staff was very nice as well as the hotel lobby. The problem was the room. The bedspread and curtains looked like they were from the 80's.... Ughhh so disappointed when we opened the door into the room... Our ocean view was just ok due to the fact that we had to look over some ugly roof tops. The room was also musty, never a good sign!!!! The rug was old and dirty... We checked out. The hotel was very nice and didn't charge our card even though they had a 48hour cancellation policy.... They were understanding...
