The Hard Rock San Diego is AWESOME!Posted Oct 7, 2015
Pros: VIP check-in, roof top bar with pool and fire pit area and the rooms!
Location: The Gaslamp has a lot to offer. You will have a shortage of things to do or places to eat.
I cannot express how great this hotel is. All of the staff members I have encountered during my week long stay were super nice.

Great new hip stop to stay in San DiegoPosted Oct 7, 2015
Cons: Valet Service seems to be understaffed at peak times.
Location: The hotel is located right in the heart of San Diego adjacent to the Convention Center, Seaport Village and the Gaslamp District.
Upon arriving at Valet, the attendant immediately assisted us professionally and courteously. Checked in at the VIP Check in Lounge. The Attendant was not only professional but very personable and related to us. The staff seems to be encouraged to be themselves to make their guests comfortable. Upon arriving at the room after a complimentary cocktail in the VIP Reception Lounge, The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The Check in attendant had some great music playing in the room as we arrived. The mini bar and room is stocked with everything to make your stay comfortable and in the event you need anything, you can text the staff with any request! The mood of all the staff is relaxed, professional and hip!

Best location for Convention CenterPosted Oct 6, 2015
Pros: Location, facilities and service were excellent.
Cons: nothing comes to mind.
Location: Convenient location for the gaslamp district, trolleys, tons of shops, restaurants, Petco Park, etc.
The quick walk from the Convention Center was a key factor in my appreciation of this hotel. I loved that it was not too big, but provided all of the conveniences you would expect in a four star hotel. The service, room appointments and the facilities (gym, pool, spa, restaurants) within the hotel were all excellent. I also appreciated the private room that enabled me to print my airline boarding pass the night before my departure.

Good location, service needs to be improvedPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: Location. The spa was great. I had services with Vanessa for a massage and April for a facial. They were amazing and the absolute best!!
The location was great and most of the service was good. Great location for a conference. However, my first room AC wasn't working. I had an engineer out to fix it and he said he fixed it but didn't. I called again for an engineer and waited and one never came. When I returned to my room and an engineer still had not fixed it, I called service again and they moved me to a new room. No apology, no upgrade, not even a consideration that I had been unpacked and several calls. Then the next day in the morning the TV wasn't working with local channels to watch the news, etc. No apology again. It should also be known to conference guests that the pool is a party zone on a Saturday. That was the first time I was able to use the pool and there was no where to relax. This was not a relaxing stay. I also asked for my receipt to be split in two for two days to be reimbursed for work and two for personal pay. I understand I booked on Expedia but a receipt should still be provided for guests. Every other hotel I have stayed at has been able to produce a receipt of my stay. This was unacceptable to me and was again not provided with any support. To be reimbursed I need a receipt from the hotel, otherwise I could have just booked and canceled on expedia and not stayed. This will cause me major issues to get reimbursed from my work. Some understanding could have been given in regards to this. It should not be difficult to provide a document of rate of pay

Bizarre for the sake of itPosted Sep 30, 2015
For some the hotel will be ultra cool. For me it was silly loud and garish. The room was a large suite with a balcony so quite nice in that regard. The bathroom in the middle was plain idiotic. Light switches everywhere had no idea of light control. Designed poorly. Generally the area around the hotel is cool but be prepared for loud unruly screaming until the wee hours and that was on a Monday. .

Fun place to stayPosted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: I liked the location, and the conference I was in was in the hotel, so it was handy.
Cons: food at Maryjane's, TV system, bed comfort, reduce the price.
Location: Lots of great food and shopping, LOVED running the boardwalk ea morning!
Proximity to boardwalk and Gaslamp area excellent. Front desk service was absolutely great! The WiFi was included and strong enough to do the work I needed to get done and worked throughout the hotel easily. That said, it's an expensive place to stay, given some of the things that weren't up to standard. **I had been in the room a few minutes when a staff came in to count the cash bar items. She told me she probably wouldn't charge me for the missing items....as if I was a suspect in a crime? I hadn't touched any of that crap. Next time do your inventory BEFORE you rent out the room again and charge the previous tenants. **The TV system is SO slow to go to channels that it was too annoying to watch. **The restaurant in the hotel (maryjane's) was NOT good.... I had a sandwich for lunch and the bread was so over toasted I could hardly chew it. It was on the menu under 'burgers', but contained no beef patty? I mentioned this to the waiter and only got a mild shoulder shrug. **The beds were ...ok.... but not super comfortable. **A wedding was going on Friday night below my room, and the music was cranked. ok...fine, I get it. the front desk said it would be quiet at 11. Yah... try 11:45. I had to be up at 6:45am so I wasn't thrilled about that. Overall ok, but I have definitely stayed at far, far better hotels for way less money.

Don't Go for the HotelPosted Sep 19, 2015
Stayed at Hard Rock because of its proximity to the convention center. This place may work for some - not me. Highly uninviting entry. Bad design. Nothing inviting. Place tries to be hip and misses on every level. Valet, reception and check-in staff of a Motel 6 quality. Food was marginal. Nice guitars!

Nice short stayPosted Sep 17, 2015
The amenities well maintained. Convenient location. I with the staff was more helpful, after all it's a 4 star hotel.
