Terrible staff, broken room, noisy, slow internet

Pros: Comfortable bed and pillows, size of room
Cons: Staff attitude, FIX broken stuff, need MUCH better internet.
Location: Highway, beach, good places to eat and shopping center
Burned light on the vanity that the cleaners didn't notice/bother to get fixed for 2 weeks, broken hairdryer, broken faucet that you need to pull with force to turn on, bathroom smells like pee, room right on the parking lot and you can wake up when people's cars go on at 5am, you can clearly hear all your neighbours and people in the hallway as if they were in the next room. The internet speed is less than 1Mbps... no professional can work on such a terrible connection and be able to collaborate and exchange files and data. My flight was delayed by 1 day and after dragging in airports for 28 hours the manager with an attitude told me that after they charged me the first night (which I was expecting to pay since I didn't show up), they cancelled my reservation for a 2 week stay. He made it look like he was gonna do me a favour by "retrieving" my booking with the same rate. Second time I needed a favour was at my checkout, which I asked if I could have a late checkout. They graciously gave me 1 extra hour for a guest who stayed 2 weeks and rudely told me that anything later than that WILL be charged. There were 2 charges I need to put on a different card at checkout, and the employee put only 1. I had to point it out to her and wait about 30 seconds for her to understand the error.

Great hotel in Del Mar

Hotel is close enough to San Diego that you can get to many different beaches and point of interests. You will need a car though. If you are not use to driving in the states it wouldn't be the ideal hotel. The city of Del Mar is perfect for a getaway. Hotel bed was a little too soft for our liking, pillows are great for a good night sleep.

Pros: Excellent staff. Good breakfast.
Location: Del Mar beach. Shopping
Our room was very pleasant, however we had a view and noise from the parking lots and the rear of a Shell gas station/ parking lot.

Construction

Hotel lobby was under construction. Lounge/bar was under construction. Outside courtyard was closed and under construction. This should have been disclosed.

Hotel is under renovation

The room was located next to ongoing renovation which is also next to pool and fire pit, not great. Also the room had a window that neither close nor open but you could hear everything outside as if it was open. All in all the staff did an amazing job helping us with shuttle service and at bar during breakfast. that was the highlight of the hotel.

Great hotel, short to drive to many things

Pros: Location and accessibility to things nearby.
Cons: The restaurant was being expanded and renovated, construction was the only thing that kept from 5's across the board.
Location: Racetrack, fairgrounds and the beach
I was in town for a workshop, so I did not leave the hotel much. Clean, comfortable room and not a lot of noise.

Poor Housekeeping Services

Pros: The heated sauna
Cons: Better housekeeping. Reducing and maybe even eliminating the parking fees
Location: Ideal home base location. It's just 15-25 mt like the Safari Park, Downtown San Diego, Legoland, La Jolla Seal Cove
We stayed there for three nights and had to call the front desk on two nights to complain about the 1. the room and side tables etc were not cleaned properly. 2. the coffee supplies were not restocked 3. the coffee machine wasn't cleaned either. They did provide us with a microwave upon request. They also charged $20 per day for parking which they didn't inform us beforehand of. Will never recommend this place to anyone. You certainly pay more for a place with the Hilton name and a 4 star rating but you expect more as well. I wish I could get some money back for the poor service.

Location: Excellent location and plenty to do nearby
