Pool is not heated!!

Posted Dec 2, 2016
Pros: Room Service, beach, location
Cons: Pool!!
Well during the winter season in New England, we seek for a nice warm vacation. Unfortunately, San Diego during November was quite cold as well. However, we were hoping to at lease have a warm pool to swim and relax during our vacation. It didn't happened. Not only the hotel was so extreme crowned with people, half of the parking lot were blocked for an event's valet parking, we also can't enjoy swimming in the pool. The pool was not heated enough to swim. the pool's bar was closed. During the busy hour, they also ran out of towel. The hot tub spas were stink. I have been to so many 4-5 stars hotels and this time I greatly disappointed. The guests comfort should be your priority, so try to keep the pool warm. Don't be so thrifty!!

nice hotel, but the charge you for everything.

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: great location, the ambiance was great also.
Cons: don't have any hidden fees! charge them at the time of booking!
after you are already paying $200+ per night on a hotel room, they then ding you for a $30.00 per night resort fee and a $25.00 per night parking. i wish they would have charged it all when i booked the hotel room. doesn't seem right to me.

Worst resort in san diego

Posted Nov 8, 2016
Don't buy the wine go to the market 4 minutes away you can get the same $50 bottle for $12 literally. The bay is small dirty and gross it is not waterfront at all. Water is $6 but you can't even get it after 8pm. It's in the middle of no where. If they say they'll refund you because you have to leave early they lied they never refunded me and won't return my calls. The tub was broken and old compared to the rest of the room and our tv didn't work. Do not stay here their service is horrible.

Too many extra fees

Posted Oct 10, 2016
Location: Nice location in a not too busy area. Access to the bay and recreational activities is nice.
The resort itself is fairly nice. The pool and facilities all seemed well maintained and the staff was nice. The room was not the nicest, and the TV service was horrible and badly needs updating. The Wi-Fi was not great either. All of those were acceptably though, my biggest complaint is the fees. I booked this hotel through Expedia for $150 per night. Expedia stated that there would be a $30/night resort fee. Upon arriving we learned that we also have to pay $36 per day for parking. When checking out, my total extra bill was over $150. Why can't these fees be part of the hotel stay? Is it just so they can be advertised as cheaper than they really are?

Dear Ryan, We're glad to hear you valued our serene location and our playful offerings on Mission Bay and our hospitality team provided you with a level of service that rivals our scenic site. Please accept our apologies for falling short of the mark with your room accommodations. We work hard to be transparent about our fees and to be competitive with the other resorts on Mission Bay. It's disheartening to hear of your concerns and we hope you will consider a return visit should your travels bring you back our way. The only surprises we strive to provide our guests are those that exceed expectations. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to welcome you to San Diego and for sharing your concerns. Sharing the swimming pool with ducks.

Posted Sep 28, 2016
Pros: Staff were pleasant.
Cons: Control animal waste, to make the pool usable. Add Microwave to rooms.
Location: On our last day we took the San Diego trolley tour $39 per person ($35 if tickets bought on line). I wish we had done this on the first day.
Facility is dated (not in a quaint way). I'm an animal lover, but there are ducks in the pool area, that leave waste in the water and on the surface around the pool. Location is convenient to local attractions; Old town, Little Italy, Gas Lamp district. We used Uber and Lift to get around. Wait time was less than 5 minutes.

Dear Jer & Jen, Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa. The Trolley Tour is a wonderful way to explore San Diego's most popular attractions and we're glad this was an enjoyable for you! While our larger suites have microwaves in the room, we are always happy to provide a microwave if your room is not equipped with one. Many guests think that the ducks are the hotel ducks, and while they are fun to watch from afar we discourage them as humanly as possible from making the resort pools their home. We apologize they were invasive while you were visiting. This is not a year round issue and we hope you will consider a return visit the next time you are headed our way. All the best, DON DENNIS Managing Director

San Diego Spa & Resort -

Posted Sep 14, 2016
Pros: Nothing extraordinary.
Cons: See experience.
Location: Lot to do in San Diego area, I would have to say I would have needed a two full weeks to see and do everything I wanted. Definitely a return trip.
I booked a room with an ocean view; my room was on the ground floor overlooking a lagoon not what I call an ocean view. The hotel is dated and in need of significant upgrades but has potential to be a very nice facility. At check out I turned in a listing, 8 items, of deficiencies I identified in my room to include a sticking toilet valve, inop power outlets, no screens in balcony doors (can't leave open at night, ground floor, to enjoy ocean breeze, bathroom sink not draining, TV inop (was repaired first night). Additionally after paying $36 a night for parking was left searching for a parking spot and having to walk completely around the facility to access my room from available parking space. Further recommend not using concierge to book excursions and just explore on your own. Booked two excursions totaling over $400 to only realize after the fact that with a little research I could have accomplished all on my own for a fraction of the cost.

We greatly appreciate your feedback and regret and are very sorry the items you mentioned were not addressed prior to your arrival. We strive to offer all of our guests a comfortable and relaxing stay and your comments will assist us in reaching our goal. I have scoured the internet trying to locate any marketing verbiage that states we are on the ocean, as this is not the case and we work very hard to communicate clearly to our valued travelers what we as a resort have to offer when making your selection on accommodations in San Diego. Unfortunately I can't identify from your review where this misinformation may be located so that we can be sure to correct this issue. We are committed to Making it Right for our guests while they are onsite and we hope you will consider a return visit in the future should your travels bring you back our way.
