Close to Legoland, Mission Bay and Sea World

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: We like our room and the food was great as always as we have stayed in Homewood Suites before and always enjoyed the food. The staff was very polite.
Cons: The only thing I would say is that no swimming instructor giving lessons at this hotel. The hotel pool is for guests of the hotel.
Location: There is Sea World, Legoland and Mission Bay close by.
We enjoyed our stay here. Everything was very nice and clean. When we found our room to be to small we asked for a larger room the next day and were given a bigger room. The housekeeping staff even moved our belongings to the new room. The breakfast and dinner was great we enjoyed the food. Everything was so delicious. The pool if your looking to swim was very small and can accomadate maybe 20 at a time. Also on one day when the kids went swimming there was a lady giving swimming lessons to her clients which I found odd. It was hard on my kids to swim around that they finally got out of the pool. My daughter said she was uncomfortable with the whole thing. Now since we are guests at the hotel the pool should be for the guests and not for someone to come and use it to give lessons on the outside. She was giving lessons until like 5pm and I did notice other guests leaving the pool as well. That was very disapointing.

Excellent staff, pleasant amenities

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: The front desk staff was top notch. Free breakfast, parking and wifi saved us money. room was spacious.
Cons: Pullout bed and rollaway bed could have used a mattress pad. 1 treadmill was not working. Dining room in lobby is very tight. Not very soundproof.
Location: 20 minutes from zoo, 10 minutes from Del Mar beach
The staff was great. Our room with Two queen beds and a pullout sofa was spacious. The frig came in very handy. The free breakfast was adequate. The social hours on Monday through Thursday evenings is a full meal! Our first night it was pasta, salad and breadsticks. The next night, they served hamburgers and hot dogs. Both nights had beer and wine. The free meals get swamped and they do struggle to keep things stocked, but it's free, so there you go. Parking was free and easy to find a spot. We were about 20 minutes each from the San Diego Zoo and the location where we went whale watching. Get a room on the top floor, the building is not very soundproofed. If you are getting a rollout bed or using the pullout sofa, ask for an extra blanket to help cushion the mattress, it's not very comfortable but is serviceable.

Quiet location a few minutes north of San Diego

Posted Jul 4, 2015
Cons: All excellent: I couldn't improve a thing.
Location: Location is about 15 minutes north of San Diego in an ideal area near the junction of the I-5 and 805, so you can get to all points south in San Diego
This hotel is in a quiet N. San Diego County location right near the junction of the I-5 and 805, but totally accessible to all points in San Diego by a 15-minute or so drive: ideal. It is very quiet, preferable to staying in noisy, crowded, and cramped metro San Diego. The staff is attentive and the management is "on it" if something needs to be addressed. The room cleaning staff is unbelievably excellent in their service, and I want to single out Yadira, the kitchen chef who prepared very attentively the meals M-Thurs for breakfast and dinner. A+!

Nice area if you want quiet

Posted Jun 23, 2015
The staff was very friendly and were always willing to give us directions and recommendations on where to check out. The evening dinner on Monday thru Thursday was nice but there is only one main option. I would have liked to see the breakfast area a bit cleaner. The containers that the food or condiments were in were not always clean. Also, the washing machines in the laundry room did a poor job of actually cleaning the clothes, it mainly just made them smell clean.
