Easy location to find and access

Posted Aug 25, 2015
The pros: easy to find, pool was nice, room was clean. The cons: breakfast was lacking, not enough coffee in lobby or room. The Mexican restaurant in the parking lot was good with reasonable prices

Not particularly impressed

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Pros: Plenty of parking available; room was ok. Pretty clean and well maintained. not much street noise.
Cons: Staff should be (at least appear) more friendly and helpful. How about receiving guests with a smile?
Location: Reasonably good restaurants within a mile of the hotel. Easy access to freeway.
The breakfast is a joke. A few prepackaged donut-type pastry and coffee from a pump flask is situated in the tiny lobby/registration, which ran out when I tried to get a cup and was not filled during my presence. Rooms are ok. Staff were wooden; very little conversation or interaction with guest. Won't go back again.

The 2nd day I was there, the room was not cleaned up. I also got some kind of infection during the stay. No recommendation from me. Sorry.

Decent Hotel for the Price

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: It was clean and beds were comfortable. Also, there was a washer and dryer in the pool area that was very convenient.
Cons: A little landscaping would be nice. The breakfast area could definitely be bigger and the food better.
Location: It's an easy driving distance to the Zoo and Balboa Park and the University of San Diego is nearby. Lego Land was about 45 minutes away.
This is a very dated hotel. The rooms were clean, and beds were comfortable. The pool was small with no landscaping to speak of in the middle of the parking lot. The continental breakfast was a joke in the front office in about an 8x8 space. There is a Mexican restaurant on the property that has good burritos. The neighborhood is questionable. It is about 30 minutes from the Zoo and Waterfront and about 45 from Lego Land. If you are just looking for a place to sleep, it's fine. It was a lot more reasonable then most of the other hotels in San Diego.

Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: The planter boxes are dirt and the manager was growing tomatoes outside our door. Old room furniture was piled in the walkway. Rooms ugly color.
Was put in a room right by managers residence. People stayed up very late outside our door making noise. "Breakfast" was corn flakes and plastic wrapped Danishes.

Very disappointed

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: The cleaning ladies were very nice.
Cons: Some TLC to the place
Location: Not the best section of town for visitors
- Pool was unusable...trash floating on top of the water. - My son's feet turned black when he walked around barefoot on the room floor - Pillows seemed like they had no feathers left in them -Toilet chain hung by a thread and stopped flushing midway through the night. - After paying in full beforehand, we had to give $100. deposit...which would clear back into account for 72 hours after checkin (2 night stay). - Not the most ideal area to have two children staying with you for a family trip to San Diego Zoo. - Listed hotel as being 0.0 miles away from SD Zoo...more like 9 miles.
