Nice, Modern Hotel

Posted Jan 31, 2017
Pros: The location is really really good. The staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. Pool is heated - amazing! Bed is soft and comfortable.
Cons: The room, although renovated, was somewhat small. Cold tiles in bathroom. No room heating during the winter. Although free, the wine is not very good.
We booked the Skyline View Premium King room and overall it was a very pleasant experience! The hotel staff go out of their way to make sure you have everything, and the hotel itself has some very cool ideas - wine nights 5-6, bike rentals, a host of travel toiletries you may need (lint rollers, shoe polish, etc..) - and it's all free!

Great downtown hotel, close to all the action.

Posted Jan 27, 2017
Pros: Renovated rooms, showers for two, massage services.
Cons: Spa facilities did not have steam rooms, separate mens/womens dressing areas, or Jacuzzi. Just sitting rooms and massage rooms.
Location: Right off Broadway and on the end of the Gaslamp restaurants/bars. Easy walk to piers and ball park.
Staff was friendly and great, great room view of financial district and trolley-cars. Loved the window seats.

Great location, close to the Gaslight Area.

Posted Jan 22, 2017
Pros: Location to great restaurants and downtown.
Cons: I didn't like the coffee.
Location: Fun to rent the Go cars and tour the city. Great places to eat within walking distance.
Our room had a great view out to the water. The bathroom was lovely.

This little things that this hotel does, like complimentary champagne and even orange juice is truly one of a kind experience. Every staff member was extremely helpful and went above and beyond our expectations. LOVE kimpton hotels , especially Palomar!

Awesome hotel for people with dogs!

Posted Jan 2, 2017
The staff was very friendly. Rooms were nice and clean. The dog park is just a block away. The noise level is not bad at all for how many people stay there with pets. Very happy with our stay.

Decent Hotel

Posted Jan 2, 2017
Balcony is nice. Trade off is the proximity to loud trolley station on fifth avenue (North side). The car valet and housekeeping staff were courteous. The front desk staff could have been a little more welcoming. They seemed interested more in talking to each other than to acknowledge guests as they entered or left the premises.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay. We regret to hear that the trolleys caused noise issues for you. We will address your comments with our team and we extend our apologies if you were not extended the warm Palomar welcome as that is something that is very important to us and we are sorry to hear that we missed the mark. Close to everything and really close to Gaslamp.

Pros: No complaints overall.
Cons: Only issue is internet charge for Wifi. Didn't want to pay for everyday usage since stayed 7 nights.
Centrally located and quick Uber to everything. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

Breakfast buffet needs some smoked salmon and cheese with the fruit platter. The cereal is too full of sugar...who eats cereal anyway? Need a choice of boiled eggs and plain yogurt with muesli. Not enough buffet options for the price. Room fine but the bed was too soft! Mini too expensive! Cable did not have HGTV or SYFY or Showtime. Nice lobby coffee and pm happy hour! Staff nice.

Beautiful hotel! Great staff, very clean & quiet. Only downside is the fee for parking. A bit steep, however our car was always ready when we needed it. Valet was punctual and attentive which makes paying those rates worthwhile.

We appreciate you choosing the Palomar for your recent visit to San Diego and taking the time to share your great comments. Since our hotel (like many other downtown hotels) does not have on-site parking and we utilize outside services which does mean additional costs. We're so glad to hear that your service was punctual (we strive for providing an excellent level of service). Thank you again and we hope you will visit the Palomar again soon. Sincerely,
