Wonderful hotel

Posted Sep 22, 2016
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. Location is great, staff is very welcoming. I felt comfortable walking down 5th ave by myself while my husband was at his conference. We REALLY enjoyed evening wine happy hour. I'm not sure what was up with the AC but there seemed to be a lag in getting to the temperature we wanted at night. I found myself getting too hot. Other than that everything was amazing and I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Beautiful design throughout the hotel.

Posted Sep 14, 2016
Pros: The design, quality and cleanliness were all top notch.
Cons: Lobby and elevators were a little too dark. Otherwise I wouldn't change anything. Beautiful hotel and services.
Location: We walked to Balboa Park and the museums. We also walked the harbor several times with it's shops and we enjoyed food, wine & beer in Little Italy.
The entire staff we encountered were awesome. The front bell men to the check-in staff to the wine tasting guy and the bar staff...were all very courteous and friendly.

Business visit

Posted Sep 14, 2016
I stayed at the hotel for a conference held at the Convention center. The location is great for this purpose- about 5min with a car. The design of the hotel is modern, we were in one of the renovated rooms . Everything looks very clean. Our room wasn't cleaned and they came up with the excuse that we refused service (which was totally not true), also after cleaning the room they were constantly forgetting to re-stock items from the bathroom. One of our biggest issues was with the dry cleaning- they ruined one of my fiancé's shirts (the service was a third party so it wasn't really their fault). The most frustrating part was they tried to charge us around $60 for items from the bar in our room, which we never used!! Anyway, staff was very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Elenkova We appreciate your kind comments about the hotel's location and design. My sincere apologies for any confusion regarding the servicing of your guest room. I am sorry to hear that we were under the wrong impression and for any inconvenience. Also, we regret the issue with your fiance's shirt and hope that you brought this to the attention of our front office (we will follow up accordingly). Thank you for the nice feedback about our staff! Sincerely,

Wonderful stay

I found the Palomar hotel shortly after checking into a less than satisfactory hotel earlier in the day. The valets (which is pricey, $47 a day, but available 24 hrs and you can request your car via text!) Were extremely nice and even helped me with my luggage. The front desk staff were super friendly and if you check in after 4 I believe, you can get a complementary glass of wine! My room was on the 7th floor and I was in love. It was spacious, clean, fully stocked with toiletries, and even a mini bar (which is pricey, but they had some good stuff). Spacious bathroom with a huge walk in shower. It can get noisy, with a club across the street, the house of blues right next door, and people racing down the road, but I think they have earplugs if you need them. They'll also get you anything you forgot to bring, if they don't have it, they'll go find it for you. I can't wait to try out their other locations. I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in San Diego.

Downtown hotel

We enjoyed our one night stay. Close enough to walk to many attractions. Our room was on the 14th floor and still a bit of street noise. I would recommend a high floor

Excellent

The hotel is in a great location in the Gaslamp district. Everyone on the staff were so friendly and helpful. They have a free wine happy hour from 5-6 pm in the lobby. The bed is the most comfortable I have had in a hotel room and the air conditioner works great and is so quiet. The only bummer is parking. You have to pay $42.00 to valet park at the hotel with in and out privilege but the only other parking is across the street in the public lot for $30.00 with no in and out privilege. I gave 4 stars because of the parking, and have to pay $12.99 a day for WiFi. But overall an excellent hotel and I would highly recommend.

Thank you Perkins for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate all of your nice comments and so glad you enjoyed your stay. We, like many downtown urban hotels, do not have a garage connected to our property and utilize the services of a parking company. With that, does come additional costs and we apologize for any inconvenience this caused. Thank you for choosing the Palomar! Sincerely, JJH

Overall pretty good

Great location a bit expensive and I didn't like the sliding glass bathroom door, didn't leave much privacy while on the throne, nice and clean and staff were good, although not sure if stay again for the price, wifi is extra too

We appreciate you choosing the Palomar for your recent visit and the nice comments about our staff. I'm sorry if the bathroom configuration did not offer the privacy that would have been most comfortable. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Sincerely,

Great downtown hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2016
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed the hotel. We payed a little extra for the high floor and I feel like it was worth it although we didn't see the lower rooms. The big window in the bathroom looking over the bay was awesome. We used valet parking and although expensive ($40 a day) the service was great. While the pool is small and not necessarily somewhere we wanted to spend a lot of time at, it provided for a great spot to hang out and relax at the hotel. The hotel is walking distance to Gaslamp district and the baseball park. We also traveled out to Coronado island and out to La Jolla. Both were very close to the hotels. Getting in and out of DT was very easy. This was probably one of our favorite trips in recent memory and Hotel Palomar was a big reason for this.

Great for Girls Weekend!

Posted Aug 1, 2016
Pros: Great pool with pool bar, lounge chairs and lots of seating.
Cons: Lower floors can get noisy at night due to the street activity in the Gaslight district. Comes with the territory.
Location: Little Italy has a great Farmer's Market on Saturdays. Should be able to walk to any restaurant you choose.
Stylish hotel, good location in the Gaslight district- easy to get anywhere from here. Good pool scene, the restaurant/bar is great. Free daily wine Happy Hour with yummy flatbreads! We had a standard room and upgraded to a great Suite with a second room and a balcony with help from Astrid, the top-notch staff person at the front desk. Thanks A.!!!!

Nice hotel, In the middle of downtown.

Posted Jul 30, 2016
Pros: the bed was huge and comfy
Cons: the room size should be a bit bigger.
It's a very nice hotel, in the heart of San Diego, close to everything and very luxurious and neat. the rooms are a bit small though, the king bed was taking almost 97% of the room size.
