Good view, however terrible thieves = employees.!

Cons: The hotel shall kill all the thieves inside!
We checked in this hotel on Dec 1st, 2015 and lost 4 hundreds before checked out. The emplyees got into your rooms and stolen when you left the room. We wrote complaints E-mail to the hotel, but they ignore it and no respond, ... Be careful!!!

Luggage stolen from our room.

My wife and I had a terrible experience at this hotel. Our luggage got stolen when we were out and about in the city. The staff had no clue about what happened and how to deal with the situation. Corridors did not have surveillance cameras installed, so we could not identify who entered our room when we were out. They tried to get the entry log from the key scanner at our room's door, but could not do so because of some bug in the system/hardware. We had to call the cops and file a report. I was told that the hotel will not compensate for the stolen luggage, so there goes our $1000+ of clothes and accessories. I was also told that if we wanted to keep my belongings safe, we should have used the safe in our room. How does one go about locking the suitcase full of clothes in a tiny safe is beyond me, but the better question is, why the heck did I pick this hotel. Also, they charge $18 dollars a day for the parking. They waived that for us after our situation, so thank you Kona Kai?

Holiday vacation

I was a little disappointed. I thought the hotel would be better by looking at the pictures. The outdoor bar, near the pool, was closed for the season. I thought the weather was warm enough for it to be open. The pool was open. I had to get new room key cards twice without a clear explanation. Water for the shower was cold on the first morning. They had that fixed by the end of the day. I found ants, a trail of them, around the tiles of the shower on the last day. I mentioned it, but was not there to see if it was taken care of. The rooms had a nice layout. A little more drawer space would have been nice. The lounge and staff were good. The location is great. I really like being on Shelter Island. Close to downtown, attractions, Ocean Beach and Coronado, but away from it all to be quite and relaxing. I would request a room not on ground level next time. It did not have the best view.

Bad room. Nice view.

Pros: It was available.
Cons: Everything.
Room was extremely small. Vanity very tiny. Noise in room not remedied. Maintenance man very rude.

Great staff with good customer service! Great location. Great for a short getaway! Weather was fantastic!

Nice hotel near many attractions

Pros: Location and comfort.
Cons: Parking charge excessive, lack of morning coffee, cleaning crew left our ground level balcony unlocked and all our belongings were vulnerable.
Location: Perfect for sight seeing in San Diego, within minutes to many restaurants, museums, shopping, beaches.
Comfortable rooms, near many attractions, pet friendly, great views, very clean
