Anniversary Getaway

Front desk and valet staff were very friendly. The hotel was very beautiful and charming. The room was comfortable and they had a great viewing deck for a spectacular sunset.

Nice location and comfortable hotel. A bit expensive for what it is. Service doesn't necessarily match the price. Beware of hidden costs.

Beautiful renovated property overlooking the ocean

Pros: The hotel was recently renovated and upgraded. It was stunning and would be an excellent place to hang out on the sunny days. A romantic gem!
The surrounding area is beautiful little seaside communities with tons of character. Craft brew pubs dot the the landscape and fine dining options are plentiful. Oceanside, Carlsbad, Del Mar and La Jolla were our favourite stops. Del Mar is only a 30 minute drive to downtown San Diego where you can check out the Gaslamp district or walk along the sea wall/marina.

Not affiliated withthe real Auberge resorts BEWARE

Quite a few very upsetting points at this hotel during our stay. First and foremost this hotel is NOT affiliated with the real Auberge resorts. So do not confuse them. Secondly hotel failed to mention that they are renovating half of their rooms! Staff is very untrained, for example pool boy does not cover your chairs with towels nor does the hotel offer any bottled water but they sure know how to collect a resort fee! Thirdly when going up to the terrace to watch the sunset our designer diaper bag went missing and was later found in the housekeeping closet under a pile of towels! Quite shocking!! We reported the incident to the front desk and Sally who is the assistant to the General Manager Terry Bucholtz, however she said that the GM would be calling me. Guess what still no call. You would think after an incident like that the GM of a hotel first priority would be to personally pick up the phone and express his apologies to guests that have had their belongings disappear. Still waiting for that call....

Great spa, location, and rooms!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to others! I had a great time at the spa including one of the best massages I have ever had! The spa does not have wait staff there to order food and drinks from. You have to order at the front desk in the spa and room service brings it which is not my favorite. But, not a deal killer. The hotel location is great! Right across the street from a cute shopping plaza with a variety of restaurants. And, the rooms were really nice, comfortable, and well decorated!
