"Good location for business or vacation."
Experience was very good. Good weather most of the trip. Hotel suffered a power and gas outage on last day caused by fallen tree, but took $100. off the bill for inconvenience.

"Nice hotel, you need a car to go anywhere."
Mayresses is old, room doesn't get cleaned before 5 pm, food is decent, extremely pricey! The parking costs a fortune, park on the street.

"Comfortable Hotel near Hortan Plaza and Convention"
This was a nice boutique style hotel close to Hortan Plaza and within walking distance to the convention center. The hotel was nice and clean and my room was very big. The bathroom was very nice with a lighted make-up mirror and decent sized shower and tub. The bed and linens were very comfortable with down pillows and comforter. The hotel has a restaurant attached and I ate there 3 nights. I thought the food was very good and definitely one the better hotel restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

"Fantastic hotel in the heart of Gaslamp District"
I stayed here while I was at a conference because the deal I got from Expedia was better than staying at a conference hotel, and there was free wifi that was paid at the other hotels. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in and realised how good of a deal I really got. The hotel staff was amazing; Dan checked me in three hours early, and upgraded me to a King room on the top floor because the room (a queen bed) wasn't available yet. I was also shocked to learn that the hotel offered complimentary beverages in the mini-fridge, including pop, still and carbonated water. In addition, they would give you a small basket including chips, a granola bar, and a small fancy chocolate every day. In this day and age, where complimentary items are few and far between in hotels - and most nice hotels charge you for everything including wifi - I was impressed that the Andaz goes out of their way to provide these little luxury items. To top it off, I ran out of deodorant during my stay and they brought me up a small travel size one within minutes, free of charge. This was my first stay at an Andaz, and I can say that I will be looking for this hotel again - the staff was quite knowledgeable, extremely friendly, the ambience was great, and I felt special while staying there. Given that the cost of this hotel was comparable, if not cheaper, than many of the big hotels that charge you for everything - I think this hotel is the perfect option if you're looking to stay around the Gaslamp.
