We never went to The Pacific!! We got a text from Expedia telling us the Pacific was closed due to renovations and we were booked at Motel 6 Chula Vista. We paid $50. to take us there only to find out we did not have a reservation. So Expedia has our $274. and we have no accommodations. We rebooked through Expedia and Paid again We are now at Town and Country Resort

This place is definitely not worth how much they charge. The room stinks and the bed is terrible. Upon check in we witnessed someone trying to check in but was given the wrong room. Management was unprofessional and berated the customer that they had booked under a third party and handed them a half deflated mattress. We were informed that Peking was an extra charge for this specific weekend because of a “blackout date”. We only spent a few hours here until we had enough. We happily packed up and went to another location. I would never recommend this place.

Disappointing.
Our room was quite dirty, the carpet was very noticeably crusty and dirty. The lamp in the room was missing the shade and the bathtub required cleaning as there was dirt and stains in the shower. The pool was quite nice and the bed was comfortable but I’m not sure why so many hotels skimp on the pillows. Overall I wouldn’t stay again as I was schedule to stay for a few nights but after arriving to the hotel I had to make other arrangements. The hotel has a similar pricing to other hotels in the area but the quality is no where close. I understand it’s a budget hotel/motel but that doesn’t mean you can’t maintain basic hygiene.

Cockroaches! and rude staff at front desk
Jasmine at the front desk acted completely annoyed by everyone and everything and seemed to hate her job. She made it abundantly clear to each guest that she took zero joy in serving them. Everyone was an inconvenience to her. The place is dirty and completely unrepresentative of the photos on line. I witnessed her being rude to people calling in, and hanging up on them. The person in line in front of me was cancelling her room due to three large cockroaches in her bathtub. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to stay anywhere else but here. My husband’s comment was “not even when I was young and broke would I even have stayed here on a guys trip” and “I don’t care if you have to pay to get us out of this. We’re leaving.” The hotel should not be allowed to use the photos they have on line because the rooms do NOT look like the photos AT ALL. They look like scenes from movies, where only bad things happen.

The smell in the room was unbearable, ne refrigerator or Microway, I checked out after two hours being there, stuff didn't even asked why I was checking out if I paid was for two nights, I didn’t even want to bother asking for refund, total loss.

The property is in the Little Italy neighborhood. Walking distance to embarcadero. The hotel charged 116.07 fees to include coffee and housekeeping. None of both was provided. I even had to walk to office to get clean towels.

The room seemed fine until we noticed tiny cockroaches scurrying around the room and bathroom. My sister woke me up at 3am because she saw them in the bathroom. We had to sleep with the lights and TV on hoping they wouldn't crawl on us or infest our luggage.

Spend an extra $50 and stay somewhere else.
Horrible! The man at the front desk was not friendly at all. He immediately seemed bothered when I first came to the desk. He was slamming things and made me feel very uncomfortable. The A/C unit was not strong enough to cool the room, so I ended up driving to Home Depot to buy a fan just to try to stay cool at night. The room has no mini fridge and not even a bedside lamp. Imagine a new mom with baby formula, wouldn't even have anywhere to store it. Or an elderly person, would have to get out of bed in the dark to find the light switch. This place was just a dump. And the staff were not friendly at all. I'll never be back and I don't recommend this place. I spent 2 nights here, and came home exhausted from not being able to sleep due to the heat in my room. Honestly, there was more negatives about this place, but I just don't have the energy to give this place anymore thought.

Prople working there were very nice. Pool was very dirty and unable to use, no breakfast offer and was part of the expedia offer, room air-conditioning was not strong enough to cool room. Extremely hot in room!

Good location but...
The location is very good. It is only 1 block to the Embarcadero (Harbor Dr). There are other hotels in the area but much more money. The room has no mini-fridge and the microwave is in the lobby, not in the room. The room does have an in-room safe and ironing board. My only negative comment is that the room was kinda smelly.

Cons- Dirty dirty carpets. No in room fridge, no microwave, no coffe maker. No coffee even in the lobby. Early check in cost $25. Right next to the tram tracks (noisy). Pros- bed linen clean and bed comfortable, bathroom clean with working hot water. Pool. Close to the bay. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and sight seeing. Nice staff. AC worked. It's one of the cheapest hotels in the area, so if you can ignore a few things then this is the place for you.

There were younge men begging for money and things in the parking lot when we pulled up. The guy at front desk was not there. Then when he showed up was not nice. The room smelled of mold as soon as we walked in. Then i discovered dirty dipers in the trash can . The beds where hard as a board. Messed up my mom's back because it was so hard. A man I didn't know approched me in the parking lot (did not say who he was) but asked what room I was in. Then he said he was charging me for my service animal. Which by law is not supposed to happen. Even after showing paper work and the law he still charged me. Was very rude about the whole thing. I will never stay here again. Avoid!!!

The staff was nice and gave us great restaurant recommendations. The area was nice, the room was ok, the bathroom was terrible. The door to the bathroom would not close unless you kicked it shut. The tub was very slippery and not it good condition, and the vent looks like it has never been cleaned. Other than the bathroom, everything else was great.

On the plus side, comfortable beds, big TV, close to Little Italy and the airport, nice little pool. On the negative side, no mini fridge, ice bucket, glasses, or servicing of the room. Oh, and the bugs in the bathroom were disconcerting. We stayed 3 nights and it was the right price.

The cost of the room was quite high. The room was dated, and not like the photos shown on google. The A/C unit was undersized and had to run a full cooling all the time to keep the room tolerable. It felt nicer outside, but couldn't get a breeze into the room with open windows. No microwave/coffee pot/mini fridge in the room.

Great location. Property desperately needs maintenance and a remodel. Rooms are dated, carpets very worn and dirty. Rusty and failing plumbing. The pool is a highlight having a deep end which is so rare now.

There was visible MOLD in my room with overwhelming smell, that, when I looked into reviews from other sites turned out to have been there for WEEKS as a known issue the motel has done NOTHING about. They refused to refund me even though the room was dirty and unsafe. Even the sheets were stained when I arrived. Expedia should not be allowing this hotel to remain listed on the site, especially considering the complicit management in endangering guests. Moreso, even if your room is adequate the manager may neglect to check you in properly. This caused the front desk person to open a room that guests were sleeping in in front of me! It wasn’t her fault. The manager didn’t care because he got his money. I will be doing what I can to report this venue to all available authorities in the San Diego area because of the health risk alone. But do yourself a favor and steer clear. Again, Expedia should delist as this is a known issue they are going to be complicit in going forward. Disgusting, and the worst accommodations I’ve ever seen. I expected a floor on the quality here.

Nice location... other than that, dirty carpets in the rooms, no coffee or tea in the rooms or in the lobby, bring your own soap, because the one provided is of the lowest quality, they would only clean the room every other day, which would be fine unless you need towels or soap

Don't expect a good night's sleep.
I want to share my experience today, June 30 at the Pacific hotel in San Diego. We checked at 11:45pm on the 29th after returning from an international flight. We asked for a late check out, but it was declined. We did not get to sleep until 2am, and where rudely awaken before 8am by jackhammering in the room right below us. When we checked out at 10:45am we asked to be compensated for the early wakeup. The lady was kind, but stated that only the manager could make any adjustments. We returned at 2:30 to speak to the manager. We shared our experience with the manager and he stated that starting the work at 8am was acceptable practice and that no compensation was warrantied. We asked if we could speak with the hotel manager and he said that there was no one higher then himself to speak with. We asked if there was an owner or if Pacific was part of a chain and he said firmly no. Based on the business card in the lobby, The Pacific is part of hotelinvestmentgroup.com. We have emailed them twice and have not heard anything back.

The amenities in our room did not match the hotel’s website list of amenities. Our room did not have a clock, in room coffee or a hairdryer which were all listed as general services/amenities. Also, the bathroom fan did not have a switch and did not work. At the rate of $170 per night, not including taxes and fees, I expect to get what was advertised. These are basic amenities that are typically available in a hotel room these days.

The property is not far from little Italy, which was nice. The room was mostly as advertised, there was a jacuzzi bathtub that fit two but there was no shower curtain - room wasn't to bad when water was on the floor in the bathroom. The room had a table, but no chairs, there is a significant gap under the front door so a roach was able to get into the room, but was quickly squashed - a towel was used to keep other pests out while we slept. There is a pool, which we never used, but looked like it was well kept - can't speak to the temperature. Cable TV in the room, and room service is available, but we walked out and about for food - quite a bit of homeless in the area, but nothing aggressive.

I will be asking for a full refund our room was infested with cockroaches on the walls in the bathroom even running across the tv. We checked out first thing in the morning after expressing my concerns they still charged me this place was horribly dirty and infested with roaches

Nasty room!!!
The first room 203 was dirty and had a strong bad smell, like of humidity and black mold, nasty, I reported and the desk attendant was very nice to give us a different room, but we spend like 2 hrs. With this event.

It's an IDEAL location for the 4th of July, but a LOT of things made the stay less than great. I've stayed there before Covid, and I realize that .recovering can be hard, but the during the climb back a lot has been eliminated and repairs should be done to bring it back to a better level. The rooms are sparse at best, (we had to ask for an EXTRA chair so 2 of us could sit at the only table). Our TV's sound system was IFFY at best. It might have been the cable system's fault, but BAD sound most the time means NO TV.. It's small stuff that CAN be fixed, which can make this good place to stay.

Very convenient but issues to be addressed.
As a Native San Diegan I was disappointed at the surprise additional $10 parking fee. Yes, it was 4th of July but each vehicle had a permit on the dash. There was no opportunity to have someone just drive in and fill a space without management noticing. Also the complete fees and expected deposit fees listed by Hotel.com did not match. nor was there a notice of additional parking fee in their listing. This is not a good representation of San Diego. Old hotels remodeled are fine, but last minute surprise fees are not. We pride ourselves in being the Finest City and want our visitors to have a memorable visit. The hole in the bathroom door should have been disclosed. Children in the pool at 12:30 a.m. does not make for a restful visit. No hour notice, gate pass or adult supervison notice was noted at the pool site.
