Very Pretty Grounds - Outstanding Staff

Posted Feb 8, 2016
Pros: The property grounds are gorgeous. The staff is outstanding. The food is very good.
Cons: Some general maintenance on the rooms - a little better cleaning
Location: Sea World - Beach - Shopping - Food
Overall this is a great place. A little expensive for rooms. Their property is very beautiful and there is a lot of swimming pools, little walking paths, etc. The location is very good.

I'm not really a resort person

Posted Jan 27, 2016
Pros: It's nice having a little bungalow instead of the typical business hotel. The rooms are spacious. The wifi is pretty good.
Location: There isn't much nearby. It's a resort. If you want outside entertainment you have to drive. In good traffic it's about 15 minutes to downtown.
I stayed here because of a conference. I would not have chosen it otherwise. It's a bit older construction, but in good condition. The restaurants are very good, the setting is pleasant. But ... everything is on the expensive side, plus there is a resort fee. It's $25 for breakfast, $50 for lunch and at $35/day resort fee on top of the cost of the room. Because it's a resort, it's a bit of a hassle to go somewhere else for a meal.

LOVED our stay!

Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: This facility is very convenient in every sense. Parking is right outside your room, multiple pools around the facility, nice ponds and sitting areas.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the actual resort was beautiful and clean. Only a few minutes away from restaurants and shopping centers but a wonderful getaway from city noise.

It is a great hotel with great location. It has the best view of harbor. Very quiet , but outdated furniture.

Not so much Paradise

Posted Jan 20, 2016
Pros: The outdoors,
Cons: Lower the prices
Location: Seaworld
Don't throw away your money on this place. You will leave broke and disappointed. Start will check in, got there ay 4pm for check in and room was not ready. I was told they have another suite available now if I didn't want to wait, but it was 40 more a night. I paid 250 a night already. So I declined there up sale, the only difference between rooms is the upgrade had a kitchen in it. We walked around for 30 minutes and got a call the room is now ready. Got the keys they ask do you a car? Yes of course I have a car, oh well that's 37 more for parking a night on top of 29 a night resort fee. There is a reserved parking spot for each room already. Why charge 37 a night to park. Crazy!!!!! We go to dinner a the Barefoot Bar and Grill on the resort. Everyone was nice but service was slow. 30 minutes for drinks from bar, by then we are ready to order. We order the Salmon, they are out of. Order the Calamari they are out of. The bourbon I order they are out of but they brought me a whiskey which bourbon is not whiskey. Dropped 125 on dinner that took for ever and not what we really wanted. To the room we go and to bed, we pull back sheet and see hairs already in the bed, we brushed them out, then we feel sand at foot of bed and pull sheets all he way off and a layer of sand inside the bed (not from us) we didn't go to the beach. Then the springs in the bed OMG must be from the 70s so loud. Check out and complain about issues, sorry took parking off, saved 37 bucks. Thanks

Nice lobby. Close to the beach. Very secluded.

Posted Jan 20, 2016
Pros: The access to the beach was nice. The restaurants were very good.
Cons: The rooms are in need of some desperate TLC. Felt like it had not been touched since the 60's.
Location: close to beach, SeaWorld, not far from airport
The staff was nice and the lobby where you check in was beautiful. The room however was a bit dated and run down . Paint was chipping on the walls. None of the plugs in the room could keep a plug in. The bathroom was not very clean and the shampoo and conditioner was empty. The second day there no one came to clean our room and we had to call the front desk and ask someone to come clean. I think it is very run down for the price per night. We could have had the same experience at a budget inn and saved a couple hundred bucks.

The pool and hot tub were way too over chlorinated

Posted Jan 20, 2016
Pros: I was familiar with the area, and the other hotels in the area are even worse.
Cons: The $37 a day parking fee and $29 a day resort fee. They may lower one fee and pretend they are giving you a deal.
Location: After spending all the money on the hotel. Sit in the room and watch TV, lol :) San Diego is awesome, I lived there and will be going back. Not to PP.
There is an additional 29$ a day fee for the amenities. The pools and hot tub that were unusable? Plan on paying $100+ each night over what they quote on Expedia.

not so nice

Posted Jan 18, 2016
Pros: People were very nice. Breakfast was very good
Cons: Almost everything
I was looking forward to a suite experience at my " garden suite room". Not even close. I feel sorry for the people working there. I was looking forward to room service and watching a new movie in my room. This wasn't even available. Plus our kitchen was flooded when we woke up ! Have no idea why.

We are happy to hear the staff was friendly and you enjoyed breakfast, however, we'd like to apologize for the kitchen issues you experienced. We've sent your review to our maintenance team to further investigate what may have caused the flooding (El Nino may be to blame). In addition, we wanted to assure you that in-room dining is always available through our newly released Food2You restaurant delivery program, which delivers meals from every dining venue throughout the resort. That being said, we hope you might give Paradise another try in the future! Kelsey Prince Guest Services
