Beautiful island

Posted Nov 26, 2016
The rooms are a little dated, mostly on the outside. But the grounds, the view, the helpful and friendly staff, and proximity to everything make up for it big time. Go during the week when it's not as busy, we went for our honeymoon and both thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Nice Hotel

Posted Nov 22, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Restaurants need to have a wider selection of food that is down to earth. very pricey for two bowls of soup and one coke $20.00
Location: Seaworld is a 5 min drive. USS Midway and Sea Port Village is next to each other and is about a 20 min drive. Sun Set Cliff and Point Loma is 20min.
Great location and comfort. Seaworld is very close and the views are great!!! They have small pillows in the room, so if you are used to large pillows be advised. The coffee table was dirty when we arrived. The staff did clean it the next day. Need to have blanket in the rooms for the guest that run a little cold. The staff did get one to us when we called and asked. They charged us for water, we never did use any water. I am calling them to get this taken off my bill. Also there "Included" passport is additional $37.00 a day, which is crazy. Plus $30.00 a day for parking. It all adds up when you get back at home be ready for the bill.

Overpriced for quality and cleanliness

Posted Nov 22, 2016
Pros: Conveniently located. Right across the street from Seaworld. The bay it sits on is nice. The pools are very nice.
Cons: Cleanliness, service and maintenance
Location: Close to everything San Diego has to offer. Minutes from Sea World, the airport, Old Toen and Little Italy. Also very close to Pacific Beach.
Be very careful to look at the additional fees here. First of all they charge you Thirty seven dollars a day to park your car there. We quickly figured out that's because everything at the "resort" is so overpriced that is where they make their money. Their high end restaurant was completely out of range price wise. dinner at their moderate restaurant was a cool one hundred and six dollars for two. We had one glass of wine with dinner and that's it. Then they charge you thirty dollars a day as a "resort fee". this gives you access to the fitness room, the pools etc... The room was adequate but dirty and old. The bathtub surface had been "repaired" so badly that it was rough to stand on. The frig did not work and the shelving was rusted. The lanai was so close to the other room's lanai that there was no privacy. The beam on the side of the lanai pergola was rotted out and the siding hung from the building. I was happy to see that the flooring was a hard, laminate like surface as that usually means a better "barefoot" experience. However, though they did sweep it, I think it had been a long time since it was mopped. Very dirty. Housekeeping never made it to the room before the end of the day and did not replenish our soap until we called and asked them to. We specifically asked them to change the sheets on the third day and they said they would, but did not. Very disappointing.

Sonja, thank you for your thorough feedback regarding your recent stay. While we're glad you enjoyed the resort's close proximity to top attractions, 5 pools and location on Mission Bay, we're disappointed some aspects of your stay were not up to par. We've sent your review to the Director of Housekeeping and maintenance team to ensure your experience is not repeated. That being said, we hope you might consider joining us on the island again in the future!

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent spa experience. We're disappointed to see that there was some miscommunication regarding your appointment time. We've followed up with Kristin and the rest of the spa team, who clarified your appointment details and verified that your final bill was adjusted. That being said, we will use your feedback to ensure the spa team is reminded of spa policies.

My week long stay at Paradise Point

Posted Nov 20, 2016
Pros: The hotel has ideal location, in the sense that it is urrounded by the ocean and has easy access to the beach, that is the only positive I can say.
Cons: Needs major renovation and modernization starting with the bathrooms.
Location: Sea World is close by.
I was surprised to find that in spite of paying for the resort through Expedia, I was charged a resort fee. When I asked the, they told me that all Expedia travelers have to pay a resort fee. I was unaware that ther is going to be this hidden charge. In addition to the resort fee I was charged Parking fees, those were about 35 bucks but following discussion with the manager the parking fee was reduced to 20 bucks upon negotiation albeit he refused to decrease or abolish the resort fee and told me that Expedia should have told me that I would be charged that. As far as the roomies considered it could be best described as cramped. There were two queen beds but barely any room around them. Everything about the room from the yellow paint to the decor was depressing. We had a small closet that could only be accessed if you were a gymnast. I could not fit my two empty suitcases into it. Thus, they remained on the floor. The toiletries provided by the hotel had a nasty pungent odor and the shower head sprayed aerosol instead of proper shower. It was as if you were taking a shower with a spray bottle. The refrigerator would come on in the middle of the night with a loud bang and it was as if a firecracker had gone off in the room waking my 4 years old and me. Though my wife who could sleep through Armageddon didnt wake up so much. The air conditioner was the same story.

Enjoyable experience

Posted Nov 18, 2016
Pros: The tropical feel without traveling to Hawaii, wonderful staff
Cons: At peak check in times more available staff in the lobby. Lines were long for weary travelers.
Location: It's really perfect. Cab fare to about any local attraction or airport averaging $25.00 / $30.00.
A beautiful tropical setting enabling you to unwind and relax. If you choose to enjoy other features San Diego has to offer you are within a few miles of open ocean, Gas Light District and so much more. Airport is close and easy to maneuver through, just an overall pleasant experience. This is our second time to enjoy what Paradise Point has to offer and we look forward to our next return.

Resort cost, without the resort experience.

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Location: Very close to everything, 6 miles from old town San Diego.
The rooms are old and dirty. Mold in the bathroom. Very unclean. 2 roaches were in the room. 23 paid a lot of money and I feel it would have been a better experience with Motel 6! They have hidden fees of parking and a resort fee too! Just price gouging and not cool, not for what you get. Insulting to be charged this much for what you get.

We're very disappointed that the parking and Passport to Paradise fees disrupted your stay. We seek to be completely transparent about these costs, and list them several times throughout our website, at time of booking, and in each confirmation letter. Unfortunately, we cannot control how these fees are listed on third party websites. That being said, we will take your comments into consideration when making improvements and hope you'll consider giving Paradise another try in the future.

Paradise

Posted Nov 10, 2016
Pros: The staff was so friendly, so quiet and isolated, lots of walking trails Love the bungalow style with no one under or above you Only one unit next to you Loved the golf carts
Cons: A lot of duck droppings Patios not real comfortable for relaxing Fridge in room really small Wish the rooms had robes Gym should have a sign warning guests that grunting and being loud while lifting weights is heard in the relaxation area in the spa, I don't think they know that
Location: Walked to beach Took Uber to little Italy Relaxed on beach and by the pool Used the nice spa, great meals
