ParkingPosted Sep 8, 2015
We checked in very late. The 3 very compact parking spots that were left I was not able to park my f150 truck. I tried but wasn't able to. Finally , the hotel clerk came out to see if he could help but soon realized that everyone had double parked the very very small compact parkings. he then allowed me to park in front under the no parking.

Old Motel Has Seen It's Better DaysPosted Sep 8, 2015
Cons: EVERYTHING! Including proper training of staff tp be respectful and QUIET!
Location: Denny's, 7-11.
Old motel, not well taken care of by previous/current owners. One Cleaning Staff member rude by talking loudly outside of rooms, starting at 8:00 A.M., and carrying on loud conversations with other cleaning staff, guests, throughout the day! All on first floor. Front Desk Clerk not too friendly; made us feel put out. Continental Breakfast was a joke. Used foam bowls for cereal (DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES FOAM TO BREAK DOWN IN THE LANDFILLS?) Room was ok; nothing fancy or overdone. Water from shower head was inadequate; no fan in bathroom. Lighting in bathroom, sink area was very dim. Not well insulated. We could hear next door guest coughing; children running around by 6:30 A.M. upstairs guest room. Air conditioner loud but kept room cool. Would not recommend this hotel.

You get what you pay forPosted Aug 4, 2015
The staff was reasonably nice. The whole hotel had kind of an old worn down feel. The continental breakfast consisted of coffee and a bowl of cereal on a tiny little counter in the tiny little lobby. It got the job done for cheap but I'm not sure I would stay here again. Better to pay a little more for a little nicer accommodations.

Upon check-in, the front desk clerk was very nice and friendly. There were going to be 4 people in our room but there were only three towels. When I went to the front desk to ask for another towel there was a different clerk; I proceeded to inform him that there are people in our room and we needed another towel. His response was "you only get three towels if you want more that is your problem". At that point I was ready to leave and go to another hotel/motel, but my husband really didn't feel like looking for another place to stay at the last minute after driving for 9 hours. Then one day the maid did not leave any coffee in the room. So we called the front desk for coffee and were told that we could get coffee at the front desk the next morning. I would not recommend this hotel to any one not even my worst enemy!!!!

Outside looks plain but the rooms are refurbishedPosted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: room, location
Cons: complete remodel of lobby, new mattress in every room.
Location: convenient to east san diego county and downtown via highway94
Not in the best neighborhood, but convenient to highway 94 at Spring Street. Cramped parking lot, tiny outdated lobby, no elevator to 2nd floor. But the rooms have been upgraded to a nice décor that you probably would not expect. New toilets, carpet, tile, solid corian type showers and sinks. Nice refrigerator too. AC unit worked. Mattress was older inner spring. WiFi was available, but I could not make it work on my newer computer, they should print written directions with a password. A bit of a conundrum, rooms pretty nice, outside and lobby not so nice.
