Very comfortable hotelPosted Nov 25, 2015
Pros: It was clean, quiet and the staff were friendly.
Cons: The housekeeping staff almost always came to clean the room in the late afternoon, when we were resting or showering for evening activities.
I stayed at this hotel for 5 days, and found it to be very comfortable. It was centrally located in downtown San Diego, which made it easy to get to everything I wanted to see. The hotel staff were very friendly, and the concierge was really helpful with car reservations, etc. I also enjoyed the workout facility.

Excellent locationPosted Nov 23, 2015
Pros: The location, the room and the service.
Location: The hotel is In the Gaslamp District next to Horton Plaza, close to restaurants, a 10-12 minute walk to the Convention Center and Seaport Village.
I was attending a conference at the Convention Center. The hotel is centrally situated a quick 10-12 minute walk from the Convention Center, the USS Midway and Seaport Village. Connections to other attractions such as Balboa Park, the zoo and the museums, Coronado and the airport are very easy. If you are attending an event at the Conference Center, be sure to ask representatives of the San Diego Tourist Bureau for restaurant recommendations. Lots of menus are posted, and many restaurants offer discount coupons through the Tourist Bureau. Other businesses offer discounts for auto club members, even if you're a member of a sister organization in another country. Explore outside San Diego proper, as well: La Jolla is wonderful; Mexico is just 20 minutes away, and the beaches everywhere are great.

Old & Smelled of Stale CigarettesPosted Oct 18, 2015
Pros: Good location.
Cons: Make sure the rooms smell nice.
Location: Great location in the Gaslamp Quarter. Plenty of bars and restaurants within an easy walking distance.
We were first checked in to a room on Level 4. This room had a sliding door that opened right on to the terrace where guests of a wedding were scheduled to have pre-dinner drinks. It was also the pathway to the restrooms for guests of the wedding all night. So, we asked to be moved and were relocated to the ninth floor. This room stunk of stale cigarettes. We would not recommend this hotel

Nice gem tucked in Broadway CirclePosted Oct 6, 2015
From the moment we arrived, we felt quite welcomed by the staff at the Westin. It was a great choice and we truly enjoyed our weekend stay. One highlight was the exceptional service we received from Sergio, one of the Concierges. He assisted us several times, particularly in finding a hair salon for our daughter on very short notice. Gio & Gio on Broadway and Seventh Avenue, could not have been more gracious in assisting us, to offering beverages while I waited to the wonderful coif they did for our dear graduate. Many thanks to all. We used the trolley system for most of our travels. No need to rent a car. Daily parking fees were rather high, over $40 per day. Taxis helped for transport to and from airport and places we needed to get to quickly. Used green and orange lines on trolley system. Not too far to walk to trolley. $ for one day ticket to get you all over the city and beyond. Enjoyed a fun time in Old Town, savoring authentic and freshly made Mexican food. While our stay was very nice, for the future, I would look for a place that offers two queen size beds, rather than double size beds. That made for a less restful stay.

Room costPosted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: Happy Hour was nice
Cons: Parking included with your reservation
Just add $50.00 to whatever price you get when booking. They charge $50.00 to park. The "Valet" guy gets into your car, drives it 20 feet, turns, and parks it under the hotel. What a large ripoff. You can park in the public parking area for $28. I am sure that the parking under the hotel was at one time parking for the hotel guests. They just need more of your money.
