We were in awe of this hotel's beauty and ambiance. We walked to the Gas Lamp District and had a fabulous dinner. Amazing.

Traditional In A Modern WorldPosted Oct 13, 2015
Pros: The great service.
Cons: The noise from outside.
The hotel staff was very welcoming. The old world atmosphere with the modern conveniences was very refreshing. The only complaint was even though we were on the 17th floor, we could hear everything going on in the street. Other than that the hotel was fantastic. I would stay again.

Westgate Hotel StayPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: The old world vintage feel and the large rooms with a balcony, the big lap pool!
Cons: The bed.
Location: Great location, Horton Plaza, Gaslamp district, Grant Grill for manhattans, good walking distance to the waterfront.
Location of hotel was great by the trolley pick up at Horton Plaza and easy walking distance to the Gaslamp District for walking & eateries & bars. We loved going to the Grant Grill across the street to hear Jazz and to Patricks to dance to R&B. The Concierge at the Westgate was excellent Shreddah (misspelled her name).

Zoo getawayPosted Oct 4, 2015
The room was so spacious. Hotel was close to the rail station and the bus stops were very accessible. Very ideal for individuals who love to walk. Mall was just across the street as well. Pleasant trip, overall.

Peace and quietPosted Sep 13, 2015
Pros: everything here is perfect. the best thing about it, for me, is how quiet and peaceful it was in my room. cannot say enough good things about it.
This hotel is perfect in every way: helpful and attentive staff, quiet, great a/c (during one of the hottest weeks ever in San Diego), great WIFI, beautiful decor in the lobby and rooms, excellent room service. I could not have been happier.

Nice downtown locationPosted Sep 11, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, great housekeeping
Cons: There was a leak in the shower faucet
The hotel is nicely located downtown close to the main area for restaurants but far enough away that it's still quiet at night. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice and clean! Parking is a bit pricy.Posted Sep 9, 2015
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with our 5 months old baby. The room was big and super clean. Our room was on the 16th floor and if we left the balcony door open we could hear the train and some noise from the street, but it wasn't too bad. The hotel location is great - we walked to the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and Embarcadero. Parking is a pain in this area so we ended up using the hotel vallet parking which was very expensive ($36 a day). Also the hotel charges you $15 daily fee... and if you order drinks/food to the pool (no outside food/drinks are allowed) you end up paying quite a lot for all the additional fees. Something to take into consideration when booking this hotel.

bad experience when check in the hotel. we were arrived at the hotel around 2.45pm and told that room will be ready at 3.00pm, but we were waited till 3.40pm and the staff told us that the room they assigned was not ready and need to change our room. So we got the room around 4.00pm.

Labor DayPosted Sep 8, 2015
Hotel is good, but it is too old, some hardware need to be upgraded, like door, locks of door, swimming pool. Also they delayed our login time more than 30 minutes. I can feel that they tried to do a better job.
