Gaslamp is a stone's throw awayPosted Nov 9, 2015
Pros: Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in Roomy shower Lavish décor throughout the hotel Location
Cons: My only gripe was the pool. The room information book talked about it on a couple places, but not obvious if there was one. I still don't know. :)
Location: Gaslamp district: literally over 100 places to eat/drink/dance/watch sports. 15 minute drive to Coronado or Pacific Beach.
The hotel is quite an experience. It was rated highly on the site, but the ratings really do it no justice. This place made me feel like I was a foreign ambassador. The staff was extremely courteous, the building is absolutely stunning in an European way, and the amenities were top notch.

We love this hotel but think the $36 parking fee is outrageous! The function we were attending gave out stickers for reduced parking fees but we were not allowed to use it because we spent the night! Great service and amenities The cocktail lounge was not open so we went across the street to the Grant Grill at US Grant Hotel. Superior cocktails!

Traditional In A Modern WorldPosted Oct 13, 2015
Pros: The great service.
Cons: The noise from outside.
The hotel staff was very welcoming. The old world atmosphere with the modern conveniences was very refreshing. The only complaint was even though we were on the 17th floor, we could hear everything going on in the street. Other than that the hotel was fantastic. I would stay again.

Westgate Hotel StayPosted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: The old world vintage feel and the large rooms with a balcony, the big lap pool!
Cons: The bed.
Location: Great location, Horton Plaza, Gaslamp district, Grant Grill for manhattans, good walking distance to the waterfront.
Location of hotel was great by the trolley pick up at Horton Plaza and easy walking distance to the Gaslamp District for walking & eateries & bars. We loved going to the Grant Grill across the street to hear Jazz and to Patricks to dance to R&B. The Concierge at the Westgate was excellent Shreddah (misspelled her name).
