Great location, great happy hour drinks and close to everything downtown... lots of tourist... and the charms of SF (peddlers, trolleys) I love this place

great location

Pros: Excellent location, feel, cleanliness and staff service.
Cons: Room amenities: - no facility for tea/coffee or mini bar - only 1 light switch next to one of the beds - no bedside lamps - only 1 bedside table
Location: any part of the city is easily accessible from the hotel - excellent location
Booked a family room - 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The location was excellent for exploring most of the city - very central and all transport options (including walking) were available. The rooms were very clean and fresh, very nice to come back to after a full day of sight seeing. Staff at reception were very helpful. Rooms lacked some details which would have greatly improved the amenity of the rooms, like: - there was only one light switch next to one of the beds - there was only one bedside table - there were no bedside lamps this meant that if one person wanted to say, read before bed, all the lights needed to be on; only one light switch next to the bed meant that only one person could turn off the light from bed. No tea/coffee making facility in the room.

Great place downtown, close to BART!

Pros: Very cool decor. Service folks were kind and accommodating.
Cons: The shower could be improved. It was difficult to figure out how to get water hotter or colder.
Location: It's right downtown off of Market and 5th. There's a ton of shopping to do nearby, as well as the SF Mint, and the Art Museum, right down the road.
I was just there a few days for a conference. Hotel is nice and clean, in a good area.

Bad reception staff tried to trick the customers

Pros: Nothing is good if the hotel staff is behaving in a very unprofessional way.
Cons: Stop tricking the customers about room assignments. Stop trying to use tricks to upsell your upgrades to the customers who paid for the reservations.
There must be some tricks behind the scene about how the hotel staff assign rooms to its customers. I ordered 2 queen rooms online. The hotel fees were paid in full online prior to the arrival. While we arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff told us there was only one queen sized room available and another room that's smaller than the queen sized room available and he asked me if it is fine. I wondered why I've paid for my 2 rooms in full already and you now tell me my room is no longer available. Then the staff suggested us paying another $25 more per room per day for an upgrade, which was equivalent to $50 per day in total. Nice upselling skills right? We agreed to pay for the extra fee for upgrades. Then the staff said he would assign two same rooms to us. But in reality one room assigned was clearly larger than the other one. So we went to the front desk to ask for an exchange of the smaller one. Another staff member spoke to us this time. This staff said there's still another room available and he can assign it to us. This means the first staff was just lying originally. This time the new room does NOT even have a window facing the outside and I can't believe this is an "upgraded" room. We asked for an exchange again. This time the second staff behaved in a very impatient way and just want us to take that room. We started to fight back.Then, the staff said there's one more room, again. This time the room is just okay. All this feels like the hotel tries to trick us.

We really enjoyed staying here. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was amazing and recommended fantastic restaurants nearby. Free filtered ice and water in every floor. We will stay here again.

Very good Hotel in great position

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel which is very conveniently situated right by the BART station and the Cable Car. The room was large and very quiet, if a little dark. The only problem we had was with the A/C in the room which, even though switched off, still blasted very cold air. We reported this to the Front Desk, and although they tried to fix it twice, it never worked correctly. The staff were very nice although one or two of the Front Desk staff could be a little abrupt. All in all a most enjoyable stay.

Great location. Comfortable. Sleek.

Pros: Clean modern bathrooms. Filtered water dispensers next to the ice machine. Rooms supplied with karafts that you can fill and reuse.
Cons: The room could use a little more light.
Location: Powell street Bart is right on the corner - very convenient.
Staff was welcoming and helpful. Rooms are simple and a little small, but very comfortable. The friendly staff person working in the lounge/library said she'd be happy to check us in when we asked her where the front desk was. She gave us a choice between two rooms mentioning that the one facing the cable car stop may be a little noisy. We appreciated her letting us know -- great customer service. We went with the room anyway and it was fine.
