Great SFO Hotel--close and comfortable

Posted Jan 18, 2017
Cons: The lobby is dated, but staff indicated a complete makeover is planned for later in 2017.
The Grosvenor Best Western is located about 2 miles from SFO and has multiple free shuttles almost every hour. The shuttle is shared between Best Western, Holiday Inn and Travelodge. If you missed a connection like I did, this place is a step above the other local airport hotels. Rooms are fresh, recently renovated and extremely clean. The staff are courteous and efficient.

The best Best Western I have been in.

Posted Jan 10, 2017
Pros: I left my phone charger in the room and the staff found it and mailed it back to me.
Cons: The AC in the meeting rooms.
Location: Great location to get to airport, SF or Burlingame. Costco is down the street if you need it.
I attended a conference at this hotel and it was a nice meeting room with comfortable chairs but the AC was a problem and the temperature was either too hot or too cold. Other than that, it is a great hotel. It has gorgeous water fountains in the lobby, comfortable dining area and a separate bar area for lounging. The standard King was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of fluffy towels. I would stay here again.

Clean, Comfortable, Convenient to Airport

Posted Jan 5, 2017
Pros: It is clean, comfortable, convenient to the airport, has a dining room in the hotel, and has a complimentary shuttle and breakfast.
Cons: I got the eggplant dish in the restaurant and felt it was a little bit undercooked.
Location: It is very convenient to the airport and the BART station,
I have stayed at this hotel before. It is conveniently located to SFO Airport and the hotel provides free shuttle service on an hourly basis, making it easy to get back and forth. I arrived in the evening, had dinner at the hotel, had a comfortable night's sleep, ate the complimentary breakfast in the morning and then continued on my journey. My stay was short and sweet. I would definitely stay there again. I will add that since I last stayed there, the hotel has been updated and will continue to be updated in 2017 with new furniture. I'm not sure it really needs it as I found the furniture to be quite acceptable as is. The updating process, however, does not interfere with a quiet, comfortable stay.

Staff at Door

Posted Jan 2, 2017
We were given a room right in front of the elevator and it gets noisy, both from people coming and going as well as the equipment. Not really a big deal if you're tired and can sleep through. What I find odd is that staff knocked on the door at three different occasions and walked away without explanation when we opened. We are very quiet adults so it's definitely not because we were creating a disturbance. We were in town for a funeral and stayed 2 nights. The first time staff knocked, I figure they wanted to clean because the guy was holding what might have been trash bags although he was dressed like security. It was early, around 8am. The 2nd time, staff opened the door without knocking and quickly closed it when she saw me. We were getting dressed to go out, still early in the day, around 9am. On our last day, someone dressed like she was from the front desk knocked and when I answered the door, she moved on without saying anything so I asked what time checkout was. She said 12 which meant we still had about 3 hours. She didn't say why she knocked. Looks like they start cleaning very early and I didn't realize we were supposed to hang the 'Do not disturb' sign everytime we were in the room. We stayed out late on both nights and left before 10am on both days so there were lots of opportunities to clean. In the hotels I've been to, the cleaning crews were always unobtrusive. I never had to hang the Do Not Disturb sign. We were happy with the breakfast, though.

Clean, good value hotel

Posted Dec 31, 2016
Pros: The hotel is close to the airport, and provides an airport shuttle every half hour.
Location: There are several restaurants in short walking distance.
I stayed at this hotel both coming in and leaving. I was pleased with the rooms.

Old hotel, last resort if required close to sfo

Posted Dec 29, 2016
Pros: Close to airport with shuttle
Cons: Demolish and rebuild property
Location: McDonald's, heavy airport traffic so unless you want to higher risk getting run over, just stay inside.
Old and rustic. Shuttle driver consistent service, professional. Staff friendly and very helpful. Restaurant has not the best. Low water pressure, air control system old but upgraded but not comfortable because it doesn't give consistent adjusted air temp you want. Elevators impressively fast for its age. Last choice unless you're stuck needing to stay close to sfo airport.
