Too long a wait to check in with so many staff working at 8 pm Sunday night. Place was not that busy and 5 people on line waiting to check in. Not a big deal but unnecessary. Also, restaurant staff terrible at breakfast. No service at my table.
Very clean and very comfortable! Only complaint is regarding the terrible out-of-control homeless situation on nearby streets (hundreds of unfortunate souls). Did not feel safe walking far from hotel. SF is going down the tubes!
Perfect hotel for a city stay. Easy to get to Union Square and the Embarcadero.
Hotel Serrano was close to Union Square, big bus pickup and bike rentals. Around 10 minute walk to Chinatown. 15 minute walk to SFMOMA. Room was a little small but I expected that in an older building. However, room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Concierge helped me with a tour of Yosemite. I did not like the way I wait in line for a clerk at check-in but Starwood folks get to jump in line. It was too obvious and made the hotel look rude.

Everything is great except it's too noisy. Regardless what time of day you try to rest. It's super noisy, they could benefit from some sound proof windows.
