Decent hotel in Hayes Valley

Hotel was suprisingly nice, clean, with modern fixtures. Parking is first come, first serve, but there seemed to be one or two extra spots every night. Had a bad impression at reception. I was given a room on the ground floor. I had requested an upper floor room in the booking, and I asked the receptionist if there might be an open room on an upper floor. Without even consulting her book whether there was an open room or not, she abruptly told me that it was "impossible" to change rooms because I had made my booking through a 3rd party (Hotels.com). My other gripe is that the window only opened 1-1/2" (on one side only). What is the point of having a functioning window if there is a stop that keeps it from opening more than a crack?
