Good location w/in walking distance to major sites

Posted Mar 22, 2017
Pros: Location, breakfast buffet was delicious, friendly staff.
My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and were very happy with the hotel. If you're up for walking, all of the major sites are within walking distance for the most part. Otherwise, there's a trolley line right up the street too. The room was small, but had everything we needed. It was very comfortable and clean. I would recommend this hotel to a friend!

Nice hotel, but difficult parking

Posted Mar 20, 2017
Nice hotel, in a nice area, but finding the parking was a bit challenging.

Thank you for your feedback. Appears your hotel location met your needs, yet with all big downtown urban cities street parking or garage parking can always be a burden. Hope however you enjoyed you visit to San Francisco and hope to host your stay again in the future! Best regards, Bill Engelhardt - General Manager

convenient to basic needs

Posted Mar 7, 2017
mid priced hotel that's very convenient to shopping and tourist attractions. on a steep hill so you will get a workout. i had room right by the elevator which was noisy but on the flip slide i could walk down the stairs instead of waiting for the one elevator. room was clean enough but i shed a lot of hair and i think i picked up more than the cleaning lady off the floor. otherwise it was a comfortable stay.

Nice hotel, close to most activity

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Pros: friendly staff, happy hour (but I couldn't take advantage of)
Cons: fix the AC
Location: walking distance to Market St. and Union Square
Small shower, AC (unit in window) was a little loud and safe didn't work but it was clean, comfortable and up to date. I wasn't in the room much as I had work commitments so it was pleasing for my limited needs.

Thank you K for the recent stay and review. our hotel is just the right mix and sorry if the safe's batteries were expired. Our AC's are being updated too where this should not be an issue if you return next month. Hope to see you again!

Find Another Place

Older hotel with a nice lobby. We went to our first room (#201) and from the pictures, you can probably see why we asked to change rooms. The carpet was coming up in the corner, large stain on the only chair in the room, square chunks where something had been cut out from the wall? It smelled like chlorine and bleach, which was a plus for the bathroom. Went down to the lobby and asked for a new room (the front desk girl was very nice about that), then we went up to room 505. MUCH better, though the smoke alarm batter was dying and it took 3 hours to get that changed out. This room faces the street and there is a bar downstairs across the street. It sounded like we had the windows open- it was extremely noisy. Room was cleaner, but for the price I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Anna: Sorry your stay wasn't perfect and we are address such items where the hotel is replacing carpet and deep cleaning the rooms daily. Yes the hotel is in an urban location where noise will be heard but a good sleep, clean room should be without question the nature of your stay and visit. I do hope you enjoyed your visit however to San Francisco and if you'd like tor review your account for any restitution please contact any of our staff at our reception desk anytime. Sincerely, Bill Engelhardt General Manager

Pleasant Boutique Hotel

Posted Mar 6, 2017
Pros: They allowed our small pet for a reasonable price. Definitely a reason for our choice.
Cons: Add a continental breakfast.
Location: Fav cafe for coffee and an egg cup: Beanstalk Cafe!
Our room was small, clean, efficient but faced another building. Bed was very comfortable and the doorman was extremely helpful. Ask him about where to get coffee! Also, the complimentary wine at 5p was a decent quality red. While I would stay there again, we'd like to try other boutiques in the neighborhood to compare.

Hotel is very closed to Union Square

Posted Mar 4, 2017
This hotel is close to Union Square bars and restaurants. The hotel needs a little renovation specially in the lobby area. The hallways did not smell good. however, inside the room is clean a and the bed is confortable.
